The Dark web?

Jump to: Newest in thread

Has anyone had any experience of this?

The nerdy side of me finds this so interesting

Obviously if anyone has done anything illegal please do not post as I don’t want to get in trouble for breaking the rules.

So have any of computer wizards gone to the dark side?

An ex of mine did. Some of the things he saw and read messed with him so I wouldn't recommend it.

It’s the dark web for a reason. To stay in the dark. I have no interest in any of that nonsense

It’s mostly scams and not as dodgy as people think. Almost impossible to stumble across the “dark” stuff

If you know the correct person however you can get links to the markets for the shady stuff

Which of course are mostly scams

Know this from work

No. I don't know why you would want to explore it.

It’s not a place you want to explore. I have to look I’m to as part of work and it’s a seriously messed up place

Does Charlottes count? I think it was brown, or maybe black?

Actually, it might have been white, or that was just the dew on it?

Use it a little , find the sellers just as good as on the www , it’s not all illegal just an alternative view of how trade can be done , some times you find you are stuck morally and have no choice , so it provides an option for you to be a true libertarian

You do know there is no “dark” web don’t you ? Just a bunch of computers that choose not to publish DNS on the World Wide Web and to properly encrypt traffic , a bit like WhatsApp really

I deal with this stuff on a regular basis. Work stuff. It’s quite easy to access stuff that you really shouldn’t. There are legitimate uses for it but unfortunately the vast majority of stuff on there is pretty unsavoury. And illegal.

That’s the deep web. Deep and dark are two different thinks entirely.

The dark web is 95% and the "everyday" web is just 5% of what we use

I been on the dark web.. and seem some cool and strange and dangerous stuff..

.. drugs weapons.. people and even hit man hire... All encrypted of course and transaction are done via digital currency....

.. word of recommendation.. just stay on the 5% surface ... The world will look and feel safe

I saw the hitman advertisements, one read “no women, children or top 10 politicians”

Also read about a warehouse in Eastern Europe that conduct horrific experiments on humans.

Apparently though there are a lot of hoax stories and photos so I took all that with a pinch of salt. I imagine the majority of its use is drugs, child pornography etc... Journalists use it apparently when contacting anonymous sources, handling sensitive documents and what not.
