There's not that many comedians these days that make me laugh because a lot of them come up with the same old jokes that everyone else does full stop is there any comedians out there that are new? |

Not really into stand ups these days either, but I'll offer some ladies who are just generally very funny as women always get a bad rep for not being !
Tina Fey
Aisling Bea
Sharon Horgan
Jennifer Lawrence
Amy Poehler

Listened to a full set from Bernard Manning Thursday night in bed. First comedian to get a proper reaction out of me in years.
Snored for a full hour and a half apparently |

For me Bill Burr and Dave Cappelle are in a league all by themselves.
Of the rest.. Lee Mack, Dylan Moran and occasionally- Romesh Ranganathan and Micky Flanagan

"Depends on what era really. I like different comedians for different moods.... I think Dave Allen has to be up there and more recent comedians has to be James Acaster!"
I knew there was a reason I loved you Swing (aside from playing my songs Hahha) Jacaster as we call him for bantz is amazing. Christingles or certain bananas, you decide?!!
Love him, Frankie, Joe Wilkison, basically Cats does Countdown and on a local level Adam Rowe and Nige. Love me a good comedy night I does!! xx |

Wokeness has killed good comedy these days, Reginald D Hunter and Greg Davies are good though.
Most American humour falls flat with me but Bill Burr is excellent as well, his fat people and population control skits are hilarious. |

I could listen to Bill Hicks, Richard Pryor, George Carlin endlessly, but for newer ones, or something different try, Theo Von, he's had me in stitches, also like Bill Burr.

George Carlin.
While I may have a chuckle, a giggle, break a smile to some of the more modern comedians (comedians is a much broader term these days too, panel show, stand up, sitcom actors etc) they are all partially funny in their own way. Very few of them truely command respect and attention like some of the big names of the past. They rely too much on shockvalue or direct belittling of people (I don't mean hecklers). Or their jokes are often rehashed and modified versions of their older material. Or their small gimmicks are just weak attempts to prop up the jokes they are telling.
George Carlin has my favourite kind of comedy, Think comedy.
It was a perfect mix and combination of observational, satire, character, word play and black comedy. |

The man would turn in his grave now...camcorders irked him back then...if he were alive and saw everyone on phones, he would blow up.

Since this thread I was recommended to give Amy Schumer more of a try and I can confirm she's actually pretty hilarious. Her 12 angry men and last fuckabke day sketches particularly x |

Oh I used to love Lee and herring! Saw them in Milton Keynes and went to see a recording of their show. "
