My nomadic lifestyle is soon to have its wings clipped and I'm feeling ok about it this time, maybe it really is prudent to stay in one place for a while.

I've only ever lived in a 10 mile radius of the same town. It's such a beautiful area with very friendly people and a community spirit. I don't see any reason at all to move.
I would move though if there was a good enough reason, but I just can't think of what that reason would be.

I'm unsure.
I've been in the area 16 years now but it's never felt like "home"
When I lived in Essex it never felt like "home" even though that's where I grew up.
I love my friends here, but would defo move closer to the boy child if I had the chance, although I worry that may feel less homely than here.
I'm just really fucking glad I never leapt and moved to Leeds

Where are you off to Topsy?
I've been a Nomad for my whole adult life.
Never sticking to one place longer than 3/ 4 years.
In December I made a commitment to a place that's mine - I love it but I have to confess to being a little worried about boredom and itchy feet. |

Do you love your place?
After I retired, I spent four summers catering festivals, loved it but it made me see that I can't do that forever and actually, I like coming 'home'. Still got a couple booked for next year though.

I often get itchy feet, I have moved countless times, settling down doesn't make me nervous, I'll be staying where I am for at least a couple more years. |

Been in the same quiet village for 12 years now my longest by far. As a child and teen I was moved round so many times and in the end hated it. Although the circumstances and country I came from was quite bad.
I would probably move again but that would be back home. I miss being by the sea. |

Grew up the nomad life constantly moving, staying anywhere from minimum 1 month to maximum 3 years as a kid. Last years of school were spent away from home.
Since leaving school I’ve moved 10 times, all within London except for two. I’ve got possibly two moves left to do and that last one will be where I stay for good.

As for me, the nomadic lifestyle has always appealed but I let myself get sucked into the rat race at an early age and never lived much further than 30 miles from where I grew up.
My idle day dreams though see me giving it all up, buying a narrow boat and just idly cruising the canals and rivers seeing where the flow takes me and what paths it opens up....one day |

My ideal situation would be travelling the uk by narrow boat doing some agency work here and there to survive. |
