So is porn to blame or praise for our sexual habits nowadays

If you notice generations on here how different they are in what they like .
They 'older' generation you notice are not into anal or spanking for example so much
The younger generation are ..plus like bdsm a bit more or spanking ect ect ect
Personally i think porn has a lot to do with this . It can be educational but really its always looking for the next thing where i think is dangerous as you hear a lot of stories of how teenage girls are being treated by lads there with in the bedroom ...being down to the porn culture really |

I’d agree .. there’s so much versatility out there and the kids these days have access to all sorts now ... not like my generation having to search on top of dads wardrobes for his noddy mags  or even worse browsing the littlewoods ! ... just my 2p ! |

Its created an unrealistic expectation of what intimacy between partners should involve on a regular basis I think.
Fine, sex should be fun and exciting, but its not always about doing this, or doing that.
You only have to read some of the forums to realise there's some strange activity and opinions that I think are quite worrying when it comes to safeguarding. |

Porn certainly has to answer to some of the new emergent sexual tendencies. However, I personally think that it is a myriad of factors that are responsible for it.
To paraphrase Thoreau: Every generation laughs at the old fashions, but follows religiously the new.
We live in connected world where porn is way more accessible than it used to be. So in a way, yes porn is responsible yet does porn tap only into ppl's deepest fantasies or create new and unknow ones?
That is the real question. |

i can remember taking trips to soho when i was young because that was the place to get a porno videotape and take in a show then be handed with a bill for a £100 glass of orange juice.
i only did this because once i bought a copy of mayfair from the local newsagents and he told my mum.
she went bananas and hit me with a cane.
today kids have it all sadly. access to everything and its sort of sad that they arent growing up learning things. its all googled and instant porn.
but i dont think this makes us do things because we see it in a porno.
i once watched a porno which had a guy dressed as a dinosaur catching women and fucking them in the woods.
didnt make me want to put on a dinosaur outfit. |

You are speaking as if 'anal' has just been discovered by millenials.
How many older people have you surveyed ?
On the last point, porn does play a part in the sex education of all who watch. Problems arise due to porn being the ONLY education that many get. |

Rather than sexual a lot of acts just seem brutal with no consideration of female satisfaction. |

Being raised in a Catholic doctrine, I grew up with guilt, especially where sex was concerned, which took years to shed. I think today's generation are more open minded, but I also worry about the effects of porn and how it had contributed to the degradation of both sexes. It's a double edge sword and there is no easy answer.  |

Well im going by what i was told so no not some kind of JOKE ! Granny .
My mate now retired said anal wasnt a big thing in 60s n 70s .
Which would show by the then porno movies .
Now anal is on every movie .
Now when i look at say the older aged profiles not 60s btw ..the ratio compared to younger couples/women is a lot less that are into anal . |

Girls thinking it's normal to be made not to breathe and gag and expect that, is a problem. Most porn is visually presented in a way we can see the mechanics of what's going on. To properly give pleasure to a woman's vulva with a dick wouldn't be hugely interesting to watch. Mostly I think porn is damaging if young'uns are taking cues to learn from it. |

I think porn has definitely had an impact, I think not only for the you get generation but on many generations as a whole.
It often portrays women as something to just fuck, there is limited focus on actual female pleasure and this is reflected in a large part by how some men approach sex, in particular the expectations from the female, e.g fingering a woman like mad an expecting her to soak the room, or simply pounding away with limited focus on intimacy and the sexual build up.
