No, but some get shy on the phone or won’t give out their number. Maybe a voice message to start with? I’ve done phone calls but until I know someone I feel a little rabbit in the headlight chatting on the phone and prefer voice messages |

No I don’t think so, it’s really not a big deal to chat to someone on the phone, if someone had a problem with it then obviously something isn’t quite right, then just move on to someone who will. |

My DD requested phone calls pretty soon after we connected.. I am so not a telephone person and really didn't want to do it. But he was very patient ... I eventually, reluctantly, agreed to give him my number. The first few calls were totally steered by him, to my relief.. and to my surprise we talked for hours and hours.. Which quickly turned into long calls every couple of days and i soon got over my anxiety / reluctance
Suggest you have some open, probing topics ready to keep the conversation going... My biggest anxiety was that he would call me at work... So we fixed a day and a time... It also meant i could make sure i wasn't in the supermarket or driving, so that i could immerse myself in the experience |

I don’t think it’s unreasonable. If it’s what you want to do and they refuse I’d say don’t bother. Although if someone asked me to video call I wouldn’t do it. I don’t like it and I’m not comfortable with it. If they didn’t want to meet me because of that it’s not a problem though.

I am so awkward on the phone with people I don't know but if someone really wants a quick call prior to a social I am happy to oblige.
But when they try to turn the call into phone sex (even after warning them prior it isn't for me) I put it straight down. |

I think if you're not at the stage where you can do a quick two minute call to make someone feel comfortable and safe about meeting you then chances are you're not really ready for the privilege of meeting or shagging them either. It's just basic respect. This would usually happen naturally for me anyway when getting to know someone and before even thinking of arranging a meeting and it's never been an issue..... .....being shy isn't a good enough excuse to compromise on your safety and maybe by doing the call a person will help overcome that shyness and some ice will be broken, or maybe you'll save yourself a wasted trip....   |

I don’t meet without a call and a call will usually be within a few days of starting chatting. I can’t be bothered with endless messaging and I’m definitely not going to invest time in meeting up with someone without sussing them out with a call
