Music for a hot day...
Jump to: Newest in thread
It's supposed to be a scorcher today. But is there a tune that you like to play that reminds you of a warm day or you like to play while you are sat in the sun?
There are a few I regularly put on when I'm sat in the garden or driving around with music on loud when it's warm.
It's my life by Talk Talk always comes to mind. (probably the animal noises)

The Cars – “Magic” – Lyrics: “Summer, It turns me upside down…”

Rick Ocasek – “Emotion In Motion”

I have a few albums that I tend to reserve for hot sunny days. Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea by Black Stone Cherry, and World on Fire by Slash and Myles Kennedy. |

The newer Black Stone Cherry stuff hasn't really kept my attention, but their first album is an absolute corker on a sunny day. |

How?! Family Tree is absolutely fantastic! I love that they're playing around with their sound a little. Thinking about it, that's another good sunny day album |

It's just never quite grabbed me like their first album did. I don’t really know why, it's just never quite hit home since. I'll revisit them on your recommendation though, I'll hunt that album down on Spotify and try again with fresh ears on my way home. |

Most of the Old Skool has been mentioned except "Summertime" Louis Armstong and Ella Fitzgerald,
"Give Me the Sunshine" Leo Sunship
"Everybody Loves the Sunshine" Roy Ayers.
Bringing things to the last 3 years and I have got into LoFi and Chillhop. My favourite artist is

Lol, I have never said you had bad taste but questioned your liking of Roxy Music. Although today is one for "Love is the Drug" played loud.
Being a jazz head you would know that Ella and Louis recorded their own versions of "Summertime"
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RHSJbN4e_sY
I can't find one on Youtube
I was referring to the combined version. |
