"I like my home city of Glasgow for a good night out, Manchester is pretty good too
Manchester is top of the list atm.... Glasgow would be a plane journey but if its worth it.... "

"Nottingham of course! There used to be over 100 clubs in creative quarter area alone , apparently. We also have the best swingers club "
That’s actually another really good call
Does it not also have a massive ratio of women to men |

My idea of a good night out is the theatre, so under normal circumstances it would be London. After a good afternoon touring the book shops.
Other people have a different definition of a good time, I know. |

Liverpool or Birmingham was really nice when I had d*unken weekends away.
I personally think that the company you have, makes any place amazing.
I went a bit before the Christmas period so it was all naturally buzzing |

There are a few “hidden” bars now in the underground caves, and secret entrances behind old pipes you feel
Like your breaking in and then appear in a bar
. Although as they have become popular they are easier to find the entrances online.
Does Dublin count as UK ? Temple bar is really touristy but a great buzz. I took little for her 18th we had a blast and made a million new friends. |

Love a night out and after careful consideration, my top 3 would be London, Dublin (although not strictly part of the UK) and Newcastle. If you discount Dublin, I would go with either Leeds or Manchester

The Bigg Market and the 50p a pint student nights in the mid 90s, them were the days. The Kebab shop near the fire station used to do really good seafood pizzas.
Mornings to truly regret. |

Liverpool would always be my choice. As for restaurants, if you like Spanish tapas style food with a twist then I highly recommend Lunya on Hanover Street or it’s little sister Lunyalita in a Albert Dock. As for nightlife you’d be better asking a local as it is years since I had a night on the tiles in Liverpool. |

Strange answer. Dublin is in no way shape or form anything to do with UK so why put 'although not strictly part of the UK'?
Would you put Paris or Rome and with the same caveat? |

Two points of order:
The claim about Nottingham having more women than men hasn't been true since the First World War.
The claim about Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem being the oldest pub in England is complete fantasy. It isn't even the oldest pub in Nottingham, being over two hundred years newer than both The Salutation and The Bell. Painting a lie on the side of the building doesn't make it true, folks.

York is a good night out too with some amazing restaurants, but everything is quite spread out and can be hard to find if you don't know the city. |
