What do you think about the fab forum? What does it mean to you? How seriously do you take it? Does it make you laugh and snort uncontrollably as you post? Does it give you great joy? Do you take what you see to heart or get offended by the _iews of strangers? Have your made good friends here....? Are there highs and lows?

Think before replying please, I want to hear your second thoughts rather than your gut reaction if that's ok....

Much love as always and try to stay positive if it's possible.....

It’s my online haven. Somewhere I can be all of myself and express whichever bit of me needs a voice at the time.

I have some lovely online friends on it and hop I get to know some other acquaintances on it better as time goes by. I’ve met a few people face to face and fewer skin to skin and they all hold a place in my heart.

Not seriously at all. I like the serious posts though where people are arguing with a little picture of their penis/tits/arse/whatever next to the significant point they’re trying to make to a stranger on the internet. Even better if RIP thread. Condolences given next to shot of their vag.

I enjoy it. Sometimes I really do need to log off, and also not get too deep, but I enjoy reading others perspectives, being challenged on my own and some heart warming moments and ridiculous humour.

I'm getting intolerant on the graphic sex act advice topics..you'd swear people thought they were professional sports coaches. Or maybe I'm just grumpy!

I think the majority of people on Fab, don’t even know the forums exists. So I’m not too concerned about an insignificant comment I’ve made on here.

But if it was removed tomorrow, I’d be off the site not long after, it’ has a wealth of humour, insults, controversy, good and bad of human nature and on a few occasions has actually made me rethink some of my own opinions.

Plus everyone who posts is very sexy, yes everyone #pleaselikeme

I participated more a few years ago, took a break and am back enjoying them very much. I always stayed on the periphery and dipped in and out and was never part of the regulars who all interacted with each other in mosts threads. I was happy with that and happy watching the others having fun in their own way of using the forum.

I am also part of the forum in Fabguys and they are a good few years behind this one. There is little difference though

I love the forum! And during Covid and lockdown it has been fantastic to be able to have a natter with people since my days aren't as busy as they used to be and I have too much time on my hands.

I don't take it very seriously. I mean, I enjoy posting and chatting but it isn't a vital part of my day to make sure I get on. I speak to a few lovely people though which is always enjoyable. I wouldn't say I've made any amazing friendships yet.

La la land

What does the forum mean to me, actually it's changed a lot for me recently. I've used it to find like minded people, people I wouldn't encounter in day to day life. That means I'm not particularly popular but I enjoy conversing with those I do chat to. I also use it to clear my own _iews on certain subjects.

Sometimes it makes me laugh at the seriousness some people take it. And it's not about those who post on deep topics or take things seriously. It's generally the look at me threads, with no substance or fun. I think some have highs and lows as they think popularity on here is important, it is not, just be true to yourself that is all that matters. Because I like debate I don't take things to heart, everyone is entitled to their own opinions. But I do like the ridiculous that is to be found here, not naming names but some posters make me laugh a lot

OK. Being serious for a minute, yeah I know not my normal habitat! I have been genuinely charmed by the acceptance, friendliness, kindness I have encountered here. I know its only online and yes its no substitute for real face to face interaction, but the forums have in their own way been a support for me. I have, through the interactions I have enjoyed here managed to accept myself more.

.

There are also a bunch of idiots floating around too, but once you filter them, the forums feel like a good place to be

.

There. Now anyone FAF?

It’s just a forum like any other. This one just happens to focus on shagging, but it’s generally pretty fun!

I like that there’s a lot of focus on interaction with real people here, and that on the whole people are here for a good time, not to be ultra serious

"It’s my online haven. Somewhere I can be all of myself and express whichever bit of me needs a voice at the time.

I have some lovely online friends on it and hop I get to know some other acquaintances on it better as time goes by. I’ve met a few people face to face and fewer skin to skin and they all hold a place in my heart.

Doc that's actually beautiful, that's kinda how I feel too, it's my little escape and my ME space away from the pressures of life and work and parenthood.... "

Yep Nippy that’s how I see it. A bit like an online sandpit. I can be childlike when I want, play the Fool, collect my more serious thoughts, be helpful to others when they are struggling if they ask, get help in the odd occasion I need to process some stuff, There is a wonderful cross section of people and I really enjoy getting a different perspective on stuff from them. I learn from those who have diametrically opposing _iews to mine and often shift my perspective at least slightly as a result of reading what they write.

It has even helped me develop my work.

I am grateful I discovered it and for the people on it. I am a better person than I was before.

"What do you think about the fab forum? What does it mean to you? How seriously do you take it? Does it make you laugh and snort uncontrollably as you post? Does it give you great joy? Do you take what you see to heart or get offended by the _iews of strangers? Have your made good friends here....? Are there highs and lows?

Think before replying please, I want to hear your second thoughts rather than your gut reaction if that's ok....

Much love as always and try to stay positive if it's possible.....

It’s OK but lacks a lot of functionality that you see in larger forums. No I don’t take a jot of it seriously and I do not get offended at all. It’s amusing to read posts and thoughts now and then."

I take from it what I want to. If I want to flirt I will, If I am in a serious mood I play in the virus section.

I see it as a place to interact with like minded people and participate in some pic challenges.

I'm not going to take people's online personality to heart though, people let you see what they want you to see and I make my own decisions about them when I meet them face to face

"What does the forum mean to me, actually it's changed a lot for me recently.

"

Are you laughing now?

I like the different mix though, I've often changed my opinion on something important because of someone on a sex site forum, I think that's pretty amazing....

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon

It's a place where I can be a little more of myself than I can in the real world, push my comfort zone and get out of my head.

And I've made some amazing friends here in the few short weeks I've been terrorising y'all.

Sure, it can be infuriating at times, and I've still got to find a way of not taking some things personally or reading between lines that may not be there apart from in my imagination, but on the whole it's been a brilliant way to try and avoid thinking about isolation over lockdown.

Plus, flirting is fun.

There and to the left a bit

Like the tide, the forum ebbs and flows, when it ebbs it can be quite a dark and unwelcoming place, with snipers around every corner, when it flows though it can be quite joyous and full of fun.

I have a lot to be thankful to the forums for, friends, encounters and much more and without the forums I'd have left the site a long time ago probably.

I enjoy being able to debate points and share opinions and _iews, and try to steer clear of the downright trite - sadly not always easy on either front as there will always be those that take offence at an opposing opinion or seek to lower the tone a notch further but that's forums across the internet for you.

I've backed off from them a little lately because they're not "doing it" for me personally as much as they once did but it doesn't bother me, I have enough people that I talk to off forum to make it not be a concern in the slightest. I'll just wait for the next flow of the tide and decide if I want to dive in deeper.

One of the things I like is that when I feel infuriated I’m learning about myself. I’m seeing my shadow in the mirror so I can do some personal development work to integrate another disowned bit of me. I notice very little infuriates me in here now at least not to the extent it did and I’m feeling a little more integrated as a result. I have been amazed what a little shift in how I approached the place changed what I got out of it.

I echo that. I used to be a complete tit in here and I got what I deserved.

I like the change I’ve seen in you. It has been good to see you grow "

Thanks fella, always learning....

There and to the left a bit

"Like the tide, the forum ebbs and flows, when it ebbs it can be quite a dark and unwelcoming place, with snipers around every corner, when it flows though it can be quite joyous and full of fun.

I hear you GM, but why wait, why not help make things better, for all of us? You're always welcome here.... "

Why wait? Because they're not "doing it" for me currently for a multitude of reasons some forum related, some not, so I'm not particularly inclined to get involved apart from things that take my interest, and currently they are minimal.

Like I said, doesn't bother me in the slightest, I'm no different in myself and can accept that things change and not always for the better it's life and the way it goes

One of the things I realised about the forum for me was they were a mirror of myself. If I was feeling crappy, the forum felt crappy. If I was feeling irritated the forum would feel irritating. When I realised that I looked inside instead of to the forum for why. It was a light bulb moment for me.

I don't see the forum as an "opportunity" for anything, and never have done, not in those or general terms anyway. Certainly have never been a "taker" anyway.

Nor is my current perception of them any kind of reflection of myself either - for some that might be the case, but having been around internet forums since the dawn of the internet I know how they work (and they're all pretty much the same and have the same character types just different subject matter) and personally don't let them dictate my mood, or conversely my mood dictate them.

I also know that I'm not alone in the way I currently feel as Chill's now closed thread showed over the weekend.

Either way, they are what they are to each of us as individuals and

I certainly don't think the forums themselves require a great deal of deep thought or introspection.

For me personally,it's an entertaining waste of time.I very rarely post but I read a lot.It can lift my mood if I see people being supportive. But it can also rattle me when some poor bugger gets the shit ripped out of him, for trying to get abit of attention.I just try to ignore that side of things and enjoy the more lighthearted stuff. As for making friends, I would say no I haven't.I speak to a few people, who I hope to build something with. But it would take a lot more than a few messages, over the span of a few weeks, to call them a friend.

Well it's true, they don't in that respect, what you post is a different matter entirely as is what others post and it's *that* which shapes your perception of them and for me currently my perception of them is to take a step back - which is by no means a reflection of my current mood or feelings about life in general which is largely positive.

Skippy, I think you should post more. When you're out front there's less temptation to default to pm and that's where the negativity of the forum can flourish - when you're discussing an open discussion privately but not having your say. I mean that in the nicest possible way too, I think you have loads of ideas and could contribute a lot.....

The forums are great for getting a sense of some people. You can see the fakes, the trolls the fake "nice" but you can see some really decent people too. Witty intelligent and just enjoying themselves. Some interesting topics and every day is a school day. The more you engage the more you get. Even with the negatives which there are many, it is still more pleasant that twi**er or FB.

It's a great place to gauge people's personality. It gives me more insight than someone's profile.

I don't take it seriously, as with most aspects of my life.

I hope to bring a smile to people's faces, flirt a bit and join in with challenges. Brings the Fab community together (unless they're spatting over inconsequential things).

I used to go round to a forumites house regularly and sit on her sofa using the forum. She'd go off to make a coffee or something and I'd be in tears of laughter, usually at myself! "It's a great place to gauge people's personality. It gives me more insight than someone's profile.

I don't take it seriously, as with most aspects of my life.

I hope to bring a smile to people's faces, flirt a bit and join in with challenges. Brings the Fab community together (unless they're spatting over inconsequential things).

Plus.... where else would I have found you OP

Seriously though, you've nailed it and you have a great attitude. Fuck the spats they're not worth the space on your screen. I think you're quite adorable....

So in writing this thread, the title was a directly copied comment I'd just made to a mate five minutes earlier. I reckon we'd all do well to remember that and enjoy it and celebrate it for what it is, what we bring to it and what it returns to us and also the giggles, laughs and tears in between.....

Peace
