I’ve got to stay in a hotel this week in MK for work. In light of the current pandemic I’m not exactly thrilled to be away, has anyone Stayed in any hotels since they reopened, is it safe? |

I’ve had a look and it says about cleaning on website but doesn’t mention much about meal times |

One of my brothers has to travel occasionally for work, he’s just spent a week in a hotel. He said they’d upped the cleaning regime for touch points, removed approximately half of the tables and chairs in the bar & restaurant and there were bottles of hand sanitiser dotted about the place.

Yes hotels are fine. Room service but no bar or restaurants open. Food available in the room. Just hand sanitiser stations and floor markings like everywhere else. |

We stayed in a country estate hotel over the weekend.
Not a lot was different, restricted breakfast service in this particular place, nothing to be nervous about, stay safe & carry on |

Services available differ from hotel to hotel - some are offering room service/collect your tray yourself style options, others have restaurants and bars open but with appropriate social distancing measures in place.
With regards to rooms, there are strict cleaning policies that have been implemented, including the vacancy of rooms for a certain period of time between guests.
Some hotels will request guests wear face masks in public areas/lifts. Some hotels have a one person/household in a lift at a time. You should find that hand sanitizer is easily accessible in high traffic areas (such as by lifts). You also have the option of reducing your contact even further in some hotels by opting for digital keys which you use to open hotel rooms.
It varies a lot, if you're concerned calling the reception and asking what they have in place might help put your mind at rest.
I stayed in one and it was very clear they were incredibly clean, almost clinically so. |

You definitely should look into it.  Chain hotels (and some boutique ones as well) often have a section on their website explaining the various steps they are taking to ensure you have an as enjoyable and safe visit as possible. Obviously some facilities won't be available until the beginning of August or possibly later in some sites but I think that there's a level of attention to cleanliness and protecting the wellbeing of the staff and guests that should hopefully put your mind at ease a bit (plus there are lots of great offers/reduced rates on right now in a bid to claw back lost revenue!). |

I stayed in hotel last night. Sanitiser at the door and reception.
Markings in the floor, did not have to wear a mask.
Bar was open. I personally didn't use it.
Breakfast was self service buffet style, pre packed bacon or sausage baps, cereal in plastic pots. No full English. limit on the number of guests at a time getting food.
Tables were very spread out and cleaned very quickly.
I would go again.

I've been staying in hotels all thr way through this pandemic for work. They've been super strict with who comes and goes. Starting to relax a little now though thankfully. |

Yeah I have. It’s fine. They don’t come in to clean or change stuff every day, you just have to ask for new towels or more teabags etc. The lift was in use but not to be used with other people.
Was totally fine. No problems at all |

We have booked a weekend stay next month and they sent a email with clear instructions of what we get and have to do in the hotel, if you are nervous about lifts just use the stairs, the only thing we didn't opt for was the takeaway breakfast, we will go out for it instead x |

I work for a hotel chain.
We're currently not doing normal breakfasts or dinner or bar service at all (which is why I'm still on furlough) just doing breakfast takeaway boxes instead. No seating for guests at all downstairs. No stayover cleans unless a guest stays for more than a week, then their room's cleaned on the sixth day.
We're a busy hotel due to our location and we spent most of the kids' holidays absolutely full and this summer is no different! Quite surprised by it to be honest. |

I have in Scotland and it was fine, social distance check in (wore a mask) hand sanitiser. Key left in room on check out.

Yup, stayed in two in different towns/cities. Things that had changed included:
1) Screens at the reception desk
2) Keycards pre placed in an envelope so no direct contact from the receptionist
3) No proper cups/glasses in rooms - paper tea cups and disposable glasses. Disposable spoons only.
4) Tea/coffee etc in room packaged in a sealed bag, no pretty pots.
5) No room cleaning during stay (unless requested and guest has to vacate and cleaners cannot touch guest personal items)
6) Breakfast delivered to the room on a tray
7) Evening meal pre ordered from the room, to be eaten in the room or in socially distanced restaurant. No bar open.
8) Checkout via dropping key card in a box, no contact with reception. You had to pay as you went, no room tab to settle at the end.
Trip 1 was unplanned (family emergency). Trip 2 was a night away on Friday just gone for our wedding anniversary. |

Staying in one as I type this, 1st of 3 this week.
Stayed in purple palaces right from the start of the pandemic.
Take my own pillow (pillow cases are boil washed) but you dont know whose dribbled through it.
Take hand sanitizer.
And make sure youve got a good food delivery app. Bars and restaurants in hotels not open yet. |

Close friend of ours keep staying in hotels since lockdown around MK. He said all good and clean but their bars/restaurants are mostly closed so you may need a room service or take away if you need food |

I'd take my own santiser and wipes for the room maybe and avoid any buffet type meals but otherwise I think currently while hotels are relatively quiet and everyone is focussed on maintaining/being seen to maintain hygiene it should be ok |
