Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz are funnier, but this one is more relatable. Five friends trying to recapture their youth in their hometown.
Simon Pegg's character is a selfish loser who treats his friends like crap and has never done anything with his life, but out of all of the characters in that film, he's the most relatable, the most human. |

It's by far the most superior of the cornetto trilogy in terms of writing and directing, Edgar Wright outdid himself with it.
As much as I like Shaun of the Dead, and Hot Fuzz (and not in that order - I think Shaun is by far the worst), they didn't have the heart, emotion, or intellect that Worlds End has. It is a much deeper movie than the previous two. The little details through out the movie are amazing but so easy to miss. |

I liked World’s End up until the sci-fi elements kicked in. Something about it just didn’t click and the ending was a real dud. Shaun feels the most heartfelt to me, and Hot Fuzz is easily the most watchable. Still can’t believe they left Jessica Hynes out of the gang. |

I think the whole cornetto to trilogy shows a development of both a writer and director, all good films but can see where you’re coming from OP definitely

I am here to fight, and possibly die on this hill with you. It's the best of the 3.
Pegg playing what is most obviously a Frost character was genius, and allows Frost to do the "straight guy gone d*unk" schtick.
I love this film more than SotD or HF. There, I've said it.

He's self destructive. Like booze. His character's development is made explicit in the final scene, where the world has gone to shit but he finally gets his life together. He walks into the bar and asks for "five waters please."
