I know he suffered from mental illness for a long time.

He was a great guitarist.

Sad news indeed. A very talented individual with an equally troubled soul.

I only really heard his original Fleetwood Mac album when I got into the blues, heard nothing of him doing anything since, and only seen old black and white pics, so just assumed.....

He did some good solo stuff but not that much and was troubled by mental health issues for much of his life I think

Peter Green wrote Albatross, to me the most chilled out track ever. Think golden beaches, the sun slowly and gently going down over the horizon, something alcoholic and an easy chair, whilst I watch it disappear

RIP Mr Green

He was the founder and driving force behind the band which was originally known as "Peter Greens Fleetwood Mac". Sadly drugs took their toll and affected his personality to such an extent that he left the band and struggled with any sort of normality and making music. However in later life he managed to get back on track and picked up his guitar again for those lucky enough to see him at some small gigs and in February of this year a special tribute concert was organised for him by Mick Fleetwood.
