Thunderclap headache on orgasm

My last two orgasms, both by masturbation have resulted in instant intensely painful headaches, the first faded initially and lingered for 15 minutes/half an hour, the second lingered after fading for almost 2 days. This is the first time this has ever happened, I looked online and the information by and large was not too concerning but I’m now worried about whether it’ll happen next time, anyone else suffered similar?

Omg I thought this was just me.

I know exactly what you mean, I put up a post about this a couple of years back.

It could be that you're trying too hard to cum, I wank most nights cos it helps me sleep, and it's become a bit of a habit.

Leave it alone for a few days, seems to work. Plus, water, drink plenty.

Yes I do.

If I feel it coming on, I stop, I have to because I know it will result in a blinding headache. Doesn't happen so much now. A lot of it is anxiety worrying that it will happen again, so then it does, bit like 'white coat syndrome'

I don't think you've got anything to worry about, but have a word with a pharmacy (if you can bring it up!!).

Yes I started getting these, incredibly painful I almost called an ambulance once the pain was so bad. It's also coincided with my blood pressure becoming a problem, now on tablets, so maybe get yours checked out.

I have had this in the past, it was from high blood pressure, please get it checked out by your GP. Feel free to pm me.

I find the opposite - I suffer from migraines and an orgasm can sometimes help the pain subside.

Yep, this has just started happening to me too. First one only lasted an hour, but I'm still suffering with this one 3 days later.

It's put me off having another

Thanks for reply, I will do, BP usually isn’t high, though hasn’t been checked in a year, glad the meds have helped you

It's happened to me twice, about 5 years ago. The pain was intense but gone within 10 mins.

This happened once with an ex of mine. He was in agony for a good while after. I thought it was down to his high blood pressure.

I've had it a couple of times about two years ago. Disconcerting at the time but it's apparently not uncommon.
