"Listening to straightahead jazz whilst working, Mr Wes Montgomery kicking the D-natural Blues!"
I (Luke) have never been into jazz guitar. I find the sound incredibly bland.
However, give me a bit of Charley Parker, Stan Getz, Clifford Brown or Bill Evans, and I'm down with the cats! |

I love all jazz, from the early recordings of Louis's Hot 5 to Kurt Rosenwinkel. Jazz Funk, Jazz Fusion.Jazz Rock, Acid Jazz and plain Jazz. I need to visit Ronnie's and the Pizza Express in Soho if they survive lockdown. |

Love those cats!
I was wondering if you had listened to the following:
Pat Martino , awesome guitar runs.
Have you heard of Emily Remler she died far to young. Her famous quote "I may look like a nice Jewish girl from New Jersey, but inside I’m a 50-year-old, heavyset black man with a big thumb, like Wes Montgomery".
Tal Farlow has fantastic technique. |

"Duke Ellington in the era with Billy Strayhorn, is a nice mix of trad, mainstream and innovative.
"
I love that period too. But in Money Jungle he still holds his own with the young Turks Max Roach and Charles Mingus. |

"Clifford Brown as in the Bosch books.
Found Oscar Peterson Trio recently, right up my street that!"
I had to Google the Clifford Brown reference and was pleased to find that I have that album on vinyl (Clifford Brown and Strings).
I also like Michael Connelly as a writer but I need to read more.
