At the end of my working life I used to do short term contracts with people I didn't know well. I was called "posh totty" in one office and in another they all said they were envious of my home because it must be beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. In real life when I refer to “my daughter” in the company of new people they always assume she’s very little, and seem mildly shocked that she’s secondary school age.
