I had this very conversation yesterday as I was having a wax - she was saying that she had to delete her Facebook when she opened her salon as she didn't want clients seeing some of the stuff on there, I said I'm glad I'm old enough that none of the stupid stuff I got up to was recorded and broadcast to the world  |

If smartphones had been popular just a few years earlier, I dread to think what horrendous evidence would be knocking about   |

I'm glad i had a childhood without all the technology. I don't feel children are children for long enough now days, they're so quick to grow up and don't get to enjoy the outside like we did. |

Some aspects yes, others no.
As far as mobiles and cameras are concerned then yes. Had a great time in my late teens and early 20’s at raves, all-nighters and football shenanigans. The thought of that being caught on camera would certainly have stopped my career in its tracks. Also if you got a hard time at school it ended when you went home. Nowadays it’s 24/7 |

They still have more childhood than kids of 100 years ago and prior to that. I'd rather see a 5 year old with an iPad than up a chimney or rook scaring |

I have evidence but its kept in a box in the house. Used to keep a diary in my teens/twenties.
If social media had existed not sure if I would've used it anyway as it just annoys me.
Went onto Facebook in the early days and just didn't like it (although I would've been 34 by then). |

Torn on this... on one hand smartphones and the Internet offer much more opportunity to expand horizons, learn and be part of global communities. Growing up in a small town that is an exciting prospect...
But on the other hand, with all the porn on tap, you would lose that magical moment of finding a jazz mag in the bushes. Just wouldn't have been special. So for that reason, I'm glad I grew up before smartphones. |

I spent quite a lot of my childhood, teens, 20s etc. on technology.
I grew up with computers in the house and spent an inordinate amount of time on them.
I've seen them go from something that filled a garage to something small enough to wear on your wrist.
I always preferred inside to outside anyway. |

Oh god yes. Though I know there used to be a few pics of me on one particular naughty night out. Think the lady that had them is no longer with us so hopefully they’ve been destroyed.

If I had a smart phone in my twenties and posted pics to bookface and twatter of what I got up to when I was in the military on nights out I probably would have spent a lot of time banged up in MP cells

Was chatting to one of my mates the other day about this subject. We were discussing me finding her in a compromising position when the foam from a foam party started to dissipate
We laugh about it cause it's in our minds, thankful there were no photos of our girls holiday  |
