Everything these days it seems.
Its even worse when you think you are pretty up to date with references and such things then you or somebody younger makes a reference and the other has no idea what is meant. |

"People born after the millenium being old enough to drink
I remember when everyone was panicking about the millennium bug
Yep. My dad got paid a small fortune to work that night shift though . "
Thanks. I worked through all that too to ensure everybody could then complain that there wasn't a issue. Now I feel old |

On rugby tour about 20 years ago, one team member had a girlfriend at university nearby, she came along one day, she brought a mate along. Boys being boys thought, we all thought that we were in with a little action.
The subject of the Star Wars came up in conversation, I think one of the sequels was out. We all recalled going to see it at the cinema and the excitement around it at the time.
Quite innocently the tag along mate piped up " I wasn't born when that came out ".
Cue 4 or 5 blokes looking wistfully at their pints thinking that beer would be their only pleasure today. |

"I saw a kid who didnt know what a cassette tape was
So never understood the relationship between a compact cassette and a pencil"
When the tape snagged you put a pencil in the wheel and wound it back until it was tight, god I'm old |

Going to the science museum with a friend, and so many things one of us could point at and say "I had one of those".
Mind you, he trumped me with "I just bought one of those on eBay" |

Playing an album this morning that came out in 1974.
Better explain an album I suppose, came before cassette tapes, better explain them now, well they came before CDs, ah I suppose everyone downloads now. Oh well it was music I listened to. |

I know I'm older (we all are, it's relative to the day before) but not old. Our minds determine how we think about ourselves - and whether we have a younger or older outlook. Physical ageing is quite another matter ... |

Definitely the kids! My eldest is 17 - where does the time go?!
When you walk past a mirror and for a fraction of a second you almost look like your parent |

Other people at work changing the radio station, and you then realise everything nowadays sounds so utterly unoriginal, safe and mundane. I know I sound like my dad did, but I appreciate music from HIS era, far more than anything in the charts nowadays. |
