Genius frontman from Cardiacs has died after 12 years of being profoundly unwell. I'm bloody gutted. He was brilliant, was Timmy. Hard to describe and far from easy listening, but once you "get" it, his music is just... something else. Godspeed, sir. |

I was sad to hear this. He has made such wonderful music over the years and provided me with some happy memories. 'The Seaside' is usually in my listening rotation.
One of my favourite bands, The Wildhearts wrote a song in his honour a few years ago. The lyric 'All praise that the greatest man who ever walked on the earth is still around' has a sad tinge to it now.
Thanks for everything Tim. |

Likewise, it was thanks to Ginger that I got introduced to the band that knocked The Wildhearts off from the spot as my favourite band.
There were times that I felt that Cardiacs were the best band since The Beatles. RIP, you magnificent bastard. |

They totally did! Complete with cheeky"Hallelujah!" refrain! He also produced the White Album, IIRC. |
