What impact does your use of colloquial terms or practices have in communicating or engaging with others on Fab?
Do you use any terms that others perhaps wouldn't have a clue about?
Some American friends constantly refer to their posteriors as a fanny. This could go horribly wrong!
Please explain your strange local ways to break down barriers! |

I know a lot of non Geordies who get annoyed by unnecessary use of the word like... One video chat with me and I've fucked it with that one. X |

"We are a Brit and an American living together. We watched Car Share recently and I (the Brit) had to translate. "
And that in itself has an episode including the hilarious misunderstanding of meaning...I am referring of course to the "dogging" conversation |

In answer to the OP, being from the Home Counties my dialect/local slang doesn't really cause any problems...
...as for the other way round, I'm fascinated by linguistics/dialect and the way the language has developed so love learning new phrases and sayings etc |
