I've recently started Couch to 5K.
Was really hard to begin with as I hadn't run for years, but now I'm doing 20mins with no break and funding it relatively easy.
Feels good.
(still don't actually like running though) |

"Runner here, get yourself on strava, I only do 10k runs but also cycle and swim
Might try that app on Nike run at the moment "
Strava is massive now, and free too bit you can pay subs for extra data, I've been on it years mainly for my cycling |

I run around 20/25k per week. In the woods, on the beach and today in the mountains. I had an idea that I might increase my distances but actually I find my body just prefers a few shorter runs a week on varied terrain. Love it! |

Nice one op. Don’t worry about distance just keep running 3-4 times a week if possible , distance and pace develops quickly.
My favourites are a fast 5k race with younger/faster people to push me , I’m currently at 21:13 was hoping to break 21 this year. Also love a nice long slow jog, 10 miles around 5am by myself with a good audiobook |

I did but then I got plantar fasciitis and stopped. Then I found weight lifting and got into that instead. I want to get back to it alongside the weight lifting. Will start c25k again after my birthday. |

Wow 21?! The best I’ve managed was 28 and that was at the peak of my fitness last year. I’m struggling to break 30 now - lost fitness during lockdown |

I’m just over 30 too at the min. Combination of asthma and reduced cardio fitness as I’ve been de motivated during lockdown! I’ve tried my hardest to stop thinking about the time and just run for the enjoyment... it does make a difference |

Not all that North of North London |
I'm a keen runner, multiple marathons completed but loving having nothing to train for and just hitting the trails for fun at the moment. Also managed a 5km PB last week which was satisfying. I completed a virtual 24 hour race over the solstice weekend, a run on the hour every hour for 24 hours which was interesting to say the least and got a 7 day virtual race ar the end of the month |

I run too. Use strava also. My fitbit was acting up and not tracking.
I pulled my achilles a little bit so running is not happeneing lately. Cycling instead. Was up to 10k runs. Will rest up for a good few weeks before I try running again.

I'm a runner, was doing 15-20k a week but lost motivation recently and now walk a lot. Did walk 50 mile last week so still keeping fit, need to start running back up this week tho. |

"Why ruin a pleasant walk "
Because walking just seems soooo inefficent!! To me anyway. I am not a very patient person and always think to myself that if I run, I can get around quicker and back home!! What goes on in my head...

Hi, started up couch to 5k during lockdown, now on week 7 (of 9) and managing a 25 minute run on Cleveleys prom. It's great heading north with a view over to the Lakes, then turning round halfway and having a view over to Snowdonia. It's great !! |

"W e should have a FAB STRAVA thresd for us all to follow each other on "
I would be morto! Have good and bad days cycling/running. Try and do something every day. My cycling pace is a warmup for my 46 year old brother who lives and breaths Ironman comps!! |

Running is great for you in loads of ways, physical & mental. Nice to be part of such a fit community.
I love to run, especially through the woods or on the hills. I prefer long, slow sessions; stamina over speed. |

Good going
Going for a run in a min to finish week 6.
Even though its getting harder... it seems to be getting easier. I guess I'm getting used to it. |

"I’ve enjoyed running outdoors I won’t go back to the treadmill outdoors is so much nice rain or sun "
I hate the treadmill with a passion. Running for me is being outdoors, otherwise it’s no fun. |

I'm not sure that would be too good an idea unless people want to share a huge amount of personal data "
You can put exclusion zones on so you don't give away your exact location etc |

London/Essex... ish... Romford to be exact |
"I’ve enjoyed running outdoors I won’t go back to the treadmill outdoors is so much nice rain or sun " I'd like to say the same but weather has been relatively kind over lock down. If working in the office returns then I'd have less time in the day. I only do short bursts of running daily but found it to help psychologically but also with getting rid of stubborn body fat which I had never managed to shift until now. I will aim to run at least once or twice a week from now on combined with activities like boxing when that's possible again. |

I did my Achilles as well, lots of very slow heal raises and dropping below horizontal.
And then walk run stretch repeat intervals
Got me back running
Saw a fantastic running specialist physio

"Started to run most days. Only 2 or 3 miles but really love it.
Any others Fabbers love a jog? "
Yeah, love it. It's addictive just like cycling.. Which I also love.
Once you start to push your body it wants more. Enjoy it and stick with it. If you don't already, grab yourself a bike and start cycling too. They work out different muscle groups but really compliment each other. Also, they say that one hour if cycling adds one hour to your life expectancy.. so more time to shag! |

Nope, can't run. Can pretty well shift by wheelchair though, I try and go out once a week on either 5 or 10k "runs" with the local running club, but obviously I do it by chair. 10 miles is my max pushing in one go, I'm hoping to try a half marathon next year. |

I run 5k 3-4 times a week and usually a 10k on Sundays. Though a couple of weeks ago I pushed it out to half marathon just to see if I could.

Did a 10k yesterday. Left the house fairly cool. Got home absolutely scorching. Followed it with a 50 minute gym session.
Went out much earlier today for a 5k. Cool. But humidity was off the charts came back looking like I had been running in the rain I was sweating that much. Not a good look lol.
C is into the final week of her couch to 5k and even she got a sweat on today and she barely ever sweats when exercising. |
