It's so bloody hard having feelings for someone who doesn't feel the same way. I've always liked this girl, always had a soft spot for her, but she just sees us as good friends. I'm still talking to her and I'm happy being friends with her, it's just really hard trying to keep my emotions in check and bury those feelings.

A friend is always good to have although I feel for your frustration x

So you have asked her how she feels ? Friends can sometimes turn into more

I bet it’s not easy for her wanting you as a friend but picking up on how you really feel.

I hinted that I liked her then just came out with it. She said she was surprised and didn't realise I liked her, then said she always saw me as a friend.

I should probably mention she got out of a relationship six weeks back, from a guy I used to be friends with. I feel guilty, but he was always a bit of a prick to me and it sounds like he's being a prick to her too.

It happens. You just have to accept that's the way it is.

If you still carry feelings for this woman while just being a friend, you'll always be pining for her, especially if you keep seeing her and will then end up hurt and disappointed when she finds a new man.

I would advise some distance.

She said she doesn't feel awkward, but you're probably right.
