"I used to love this movie, until I got my heart broken by a Wisconsin girl. Now it leaves me bitter and grumpy. "
Oh dear, sorry to hear that! Not all Wisconsin girls are the same though |

I adore christmas and cheesy feel-good movies, but I loathe Love Actually. Honestly, every character is completely odious, not one of the subplots make me happy.
Even Alan Rickman plays a complete arsewipe in it, and Emma Thompson is so much better with the CD than with that frankly tacky necklace he bought for the other one.
I get angry with it because I should really like it, it has everything going for it. |

I bloody love it! Big city girl is stranded in a small town only for small town boy to teach her the meaning of Christmas and melt her icy heart? Oh I'm completely here for it! |

"Love Actually on Channel 5!!! Now I love Christmas and all the lights, tack and cheesey films that come with it - but seriously?? Bit early even for me!! That is my favourite Christmas film
Is it a ‘Christmas Film’ or a ‘Film set at Christmas’? I have only ever seen it in the summer!"
I think Christmas Film - it has a nativity in it, office christmas party and shopping for presents.
While You Were Sleeping is a lovely film, but is definitely a film set at Christmas, as is The Holiday. Love Actually does use Christmas within the plot, slightly. Kind of. |

Somewhere off the edge of the map... 'ere there be monsters |
I really enjoy Love Actually, but not in bloody July! The soundtrack is great, my fav plotline is Bill Nighy's has-been rockster, followed by Colin Firth's jaded author with writer's block.
Call me a soft git but the opening and closing scenes of REAL people embracing at the airport, and expressing REAL love in all its forms, never fails to get me right in the feels. It restores a little of my faith and hope for humanity. |
