I use it, just for friends on here, and don't charge money. I like it because it tells me if someone has taken a screenshot it saved a photo/video. So no, it's not a scam.
But some people have premium snap accounts that do charge money, so it's always worth checking. |

As far as I know if someone saved or screenshot you do get notified, hate Snapchat anyway, manly people scamming  |
