Lockdown weight gain
Jump to: Newest in thread
During lockdown I felt my fridge held all the answers. Consequently more visits to the knowledgeable appliance has given me a 2 stone weight gain. Quite impressive I must admit in such a short space of time. Obviously, I had to get my head together and I had to have a firm chat to myself.
4 weeks from said chat I’m really thrilled to announce I’ve lost 1 stone. Just 1 more to go............
Has anyone else put loads on? |

I've gained quite a bit over lockdown and I'm really struggling to get it off
I'm back at PT and gaining muscle though, so the weight will happen when it happens! |

That's impressive. Both the gain and the loss. Well done for finding your focus and sticking to it. You look fit as f*ck. I'd consider keeping what you have now!

"How the hell did you manage to lose a stone in 4 weeks? Did you starve yourself
I'm lucky to get 1-2lbs each week!!"
I managed a stone over the whole of lock down. A lb per week is a good steady rate for most people. I went to get my haircut yesterday. My barber looked pregnant |

Don't forget, for the same volume, muscle weighs more than fat. |

I definitely wobble more than I did. I didn't eat more than usual but going from an average of 15,000 steps a day to under 300 made a huge difference.
I'm back at work now so avergae steps back up again and hoping to wobble a bit less over the coming months. |

"I've actually managed to lose some. Lockdown has helped diminish my snacking habit - think I just got bored with doing it. "
Same here! I have stopped eating carbs as best as I could and just had 3 meals a day no snacks.
Don’t feel so bloated and my tummy isn’t as pot bellied as it was.
I guess it’s easier as not been popping to the shops all the time and having to eat what I have

Calorie counting and exercise. I imagine it will a slow loss from here on. 2lb a week is a healthy weight loss.
Plenty of water too |

I put on almost half a stone, I'm currently 2lbs away from my pre lockdown weight. I've done it by not eating carbs and cheese, doing yoga and going for the odd run. I think the main thing that helped me was not beating myself up about it and actually enjoying being alive and being thankful for what my body can do. And also wanting to gain back the slightly pouting confidence I had when I last went to VA - being happier in myself helps a lot. |

Early in the lock-down I lost a couple of pounds, just through the stress of trying to get remote working organised and eating healthier. Also I had a plan to do a mini-workout after each phone call. That didn't work as planned and the pounds I have lost initially are back with some extra padding. But I am still eating healthier |

The first two weeks of furlough I was on 10 cans a day and could feel my belt getting tighter. I had never gone more than 4 days without a drink in 46 years but somehow I decided to stop and didn't have a drink for 7 weeks cut down on food and lost 2 stones |

I've put on a few pounds I think but not a lot. I've been drinking more wine. I miss my yoga classes and I usually dance alot so I feel like I've lost some flexibility and strength. Less sex too which keeps us fit ay!! I'm Still running though.
Please let's not worry too much about it.. It has been exceptional times and no wonder some of us have reached for food and booze. Before we know it it will be blummin winter and all the food and booze that comes with that!! Oh well |

I dont think I gained any. Still very comfortable in my work clothes after not wearing them for months!
I very rarely weigh myself, I just go by how comfortable I feel with myself and in my clothes.
I hate diets. Eat healthy and exercise is my philosophy |

Wow, a stone most in 4 weeks, that is impressive.
I'm on a health kick, again. PT sessions 4/5 times a week plus cycling and eating healthier. Still have the food I love such as chocolate, but all in moderation. I have lost 8lb in around 6 weeks, only another 3.5 stone to go!
Feeling a totally different person, it's a great feeling. The exercise hives you a 'natural high'. |

Lockdown has been hell for me!
Coup’d up - not being able to properly work out.
Weight lifting, grappling (BJJ), boxing - are my forms of release, none of which I could really do. So it got replaced by lots of walking!
I started lockdown about 1 stone heavier - people that haven’t ever seen me look so small are asking if I’m sick.... but I feel good |

I went in to lockdown having gained weight due to overindulgence on two holiday's (1 in Feb and 1 in March) I then carried on gaining while in lockdown until 7 weeks ago when they doctor gave me a kick up the arse when I was having bloods done to monitor my current medical conditions. Think I definitely needed that kick as went back to my normal balanced eating habits and started exercising and since then lost a stone. Exercise is usually the key for me but hasn't been easy with my lack of mobility after 2 major knee operations but I am getting there. |

In exactly the same boat here, having put about 3 stone on over the lockdown period.
I’m awful at diets too, my will power is pants!
A friend of mine has had great success with the 2:5 diet and moving on to the 3:4 diet, so I’m trying that just as soon as we’re back from our hols

I'm half a stone down in about 4 weeks. Might have been a little bit more, but I put my back into spasm while I was on holiday which put me out of action for a few weeks.
I got cleared to exercise again a week or two ago so I'm back at my PT sessions once a week, started going to pole classes once a week, daily yoga to keep my back strong, and couch 2 5k 3 times a week.
I'm giving intermittent fasting a try as well, which seems to really help. I'm a real evening snacker, even though eating in the evenings gives me bad reflux at bedtime, and I'm not really missing breakfast so far either. |

We are the opposite. Between us we lost around 5 stone throughout lock down.
We started sw September last year and stuck to it.
Thought that lack of work activity may have impacted it a bit but it didn't. |

I've gained at least a stone and a half, didn't have any enthusiasm for the diet and not at work, so wasn't walking anywhere. Back to work in September so hopefully some normality will be helpful, want to go swimming too. |

My weight has fluctuated a bit during all this. I started off eating more healthily than normal, and lost some weight, then relapsed into old habits and put it back on.
I'm possibly a bit heavier than in March, but the actual total is largely irrelevant as I was a fat bastard at the start and I'm a slightly fatter bastard now |

I'm back to my pre lockdown weight so I'm really happy about that - I've got to start exercising again now and keeping on track with a low/no carb lifestyle (if I frame it as a diet I'm far more likely to fail at it). I'm going to set myself little targets, not weight but dress size, for various dates when I want to particularly look good... I'm hoping that motivates me to keep at it but I do love snuggling and not moving. |
