Could you cope being it and do you prefer it or do you need someone in your life? I dont mind being single infact I like it as I have so much to do and as well I like my own company too

That is right, it would be the same too

Right now, I've realised I'm more than happy being single... I came out of an abusive relationship last year and I'm still dealing with issues from that.

Eventually, a relationship would be nice but until then I'm happy having my freedom and independence and Fab friends.

It's not something I have to "cope" with being single.... it's a choice and I enjoy it

?

Both have their pros and cons - I'd never stay in a relationship because I didn't want to be single, and I'd never insist on staying single if I met someone I liked enough to have a relationship with. I guess what I'm trying to say is, I'm perfectly happy being single, and if that's for the rest of my life then so be it...but I'm also happy being in the right relationship. If that makes sense

Never understood the popular reasoning that being single equals being less happy than being attached.

I'm perpetually single and I'm proper giddy most of the time

I do remember you posting something similar way back in time about this. It made sense that time and makes perfect sense now.

Thanks for sharing that lovely post again

No what about it. Probably been single for over ten years now and doesn't bother me at all. Like my own company - if I get a bit 'lonely' I go for a walk or into town but it doesn't happen that often. Can't see myself in a relationship ever again mainly because I'm not looking for it.

Can't really be bothered about relationships nowadays - been there and done that - and my longest 'serious' relationship was back in my twenties and lasted 3 years.

My longest relationship altogether was about 8 years but we only saw each other a couple of times a week because she lived with someone and she wouldn't change her situation which was fine by me. Eventually it just fizzled out.

I've thought about this a lot lately. I thought I was happily single but recently I thought I had changed my mind. I set up a pof profile a couple of days ago and then hid it the day after.

Basically, I go through notions where I feel I want someone but I always talk myself out of the idea soon after.

I don't mind if I'm single or in a relationship as long as I'm happy. As many others have said I'm happy on my own, I've a good circle of freinds. I won't rule a relationship out but it's not something I'm actively looking for.

At this moment in time I'd be very content to be forever single.

In the 2 or so years of singledom, I've grown to love being solely in control of my money, decisions and happiness.

I'd need a bit on side though!

I've been single so long now I doubt I'd make a very good girlfriend.

I'm used to my own space and like living alone.

I miss sex and intimacy though - I watched a soppy film yesterday and I wondered if I was ever going to be kissed again

Funny how being in a couple always seems to be the default version of how we should live. Saying that I wouldnt like to be without a special someone for the rest of my life, just doesnt have to be a fulltime someone. I like alone time too.

I'd be completely fine with it. Too many people I speak to who are always looking for someone, as if that's suddenly going to make them happy. Need to find happiness in yourself first, can't put that pressure on others to make you happy.

I like the single life and sometimes when I've told women this they seem to think it's a bit weird, but I really do like being free and single.

I've been single for so long now I couldn't tell you what it was like to be attached lol. It doest bother me but I do sometimes think that it would be nice to share moments with someone else, however I don't want commitment and I don't think anyone else is in my wavelength. I guess I'm just what you would call a loner.

Single people are a lot happier and have more freedom.

Marriage is very old fashioned and dying out.

Don't have to be married to be not single. Co-habiting, civil partnership. Don't even have to live together if you've got a long term partner.

If that's the case I'll be a merry widow....he wouldn't have had it any other way...and I'm cool with it.

Being single isn’t a chore... it’s not something to cope with! If anything I’d say it’s the other way around.

I’d like to marry, eventually. But I’m in no rush and content where I am.
