So I do a bit of running and enjoy listening to music through Spotify or amazon music but what music do you like to listen to while keeping fit? I’m currently listening to the TikTok hits on Spotify. |

I generally listen to podcasts rather than music. They take my mind off the running because I have to concentrate on what’s said. With music I can zone out of it and feel HOW MUCH THE RUNNING FUCKING HURTS |

Totally agree with this podcasts take concentration especially good ones you get so caught up in them that you have no idea about the last 2 kms. |

Unfortunately running is off the agenda now after knee surgery but when I did I used to like high energy stuff to really keep me going. I would also search for tracks based on their bpm that would match my normal pace or raise it to stretch myself.
Failing that Lose yourself by Eminem was my “go to power song” for when I was feeling weak and wanted to stop |

"Try running without, you might be surprised "
Tried that for a while but couldn’t get motivated and my concentration kept getting lost on stupid stuff, music helps better |

For short road runs, I have an upbeat running play list, a mix of pop, heavy metal and bouncy songs.
For long road runs, I listen to podcasts.
Trails run, nothing at all. I just reconnecting with everything around me. |

Lose yourself is my power song too, classic, yeh need something to help push myself, find I’m jogging too slowly. |

Depends on my mood whether it's techno/hard fast electro or more melodic. Le castlevania is a firm favourite as is the ginger runners stuff(youtuber that makes his own music) |

Anything that motivates me to push harder. 15km this morning and every song seemed to be a good un. Fastest 1km - 1 mile - 5km and 10km this year, according to Mr Garmin. I’ll take that as an overweight almost 53 year old

"I can’t be the only one to run without music? "
I have been more recently but I enjoy the isolation music gives me especially if its busy around the local trails |

"It was Spotify I think that had playlists with beats in the songs that matched a certain step per minute which was fun. It's good for maintaining a steady pace and can help delay fatigue"
Also good for flatwork with the horses.... |

Sounds too complicated, also a lot of races don’t allow music so it’s best to train without (if thinking of racing) |

Listen to the wrong music when you're running and you'll go too fast and too hard and injure yourself.
For me, mid-paced stompy stuff is best. Try 'Assimilate' by Skinny Puppy – it's exactly the rhythm I run in. |
