Yep.

I'm on PAYG on EE but I get a pack each month of x amount of data and unlimited texts and minutes.

London/Essex... ish... Romford to be exact

I bought a sim to receive work calls on an old phone during lock down. Walked into Tescos and there are a variety of Sims on offer, Three, Tesco, Ee, Lebara, etc etc each with different perks if you top up each month.

My son has one. Needed his own number for whatsapping his dad. I got a payg sim for an old phone of mine 18 months ago and haven’t topped it up yet! He only uses it when on wifi. I’d just have to text something to top up but I’ve no idea how tbh!!

Central

I think a few networks have open tariffs, pay for what you use, including Asda 8p per minute for calls. My contract service is something like 35p per minute, once included minutes used.

Check requirements for credit validity and topup frequency.

Yep, I've been on PAYG for close to 15 years now. I've set up an automatic top up for when the balance gets down to £2. Convenient.

ASDA Mobile used to do decent PAYG Sim Only deals. It's been a while since I bought them for the kids but they were perfectly fine and don't have a time limit to use up the balance.

Another vote for the Asda one. After the initial top up you only need to make a single chargeable call every 6 months for the credit to roll over. You can order a free sim card from their website. It runs on the EE network.
