Anyone else have this ? Do you take medication or control with diet ? How does it affect your health/weight?

I’ve had it for a few years , my fault for be a fatty that couldn’t control my sweet tooth and love of all things bad ! Three months ago the doctor put me on a weekly injection called Ozempic which

slows down food leaving your stomach, helps to reduce the amount of sugar released from your liver, and when your blood sugar is high, it increases the amount of insulin released from your pancreas. As a result I have lost 19lbs so far and I’m feeling a lot better and my sugar levels have reduced a fair bit already

My mum has Type 2. She takes Metformin to control it. Manages to keep her weight fairly stable.

If it's controlled well then complications shouldn't arise. My mum's lived with for about 20 years.

Hull

I'm a Type2 Diabetic and have been since 2006.

Though I take a range of meds to cover it + cholesterol reduction, I also have to watch my weight. Considering in 2006, I weighed in at almost 27 stone but am now at 14st 9lbs, it has been a struggle at times.

As a Scot, I've always liked my sweets, soft drinks & all the stuff I shouldn't have. But it can be done, with support from GP's and their teams. Yes, on odd times, I may have something I shouldn't as a treat, but I balance it out with the good foods in following days.

I was meant to be on 4 metformin but I had horrible side affects.

I'm now on one that makes you wee out your sugar.

In the next couple of weeks I'm meant to be going on an injection it's not insulin but you take it once a week.
