How have you been keeping active?

Have you trained as hard as you might have in the past?

Damn I miss having a heavy bag to punch.

Dublin

Taken up cycling so try and go every morning. Up to 20km.

Run also some afternoons. Got kettlebells just before lockdown so doing them at home after my cycle/run. Not the same as the gym but I am enjoying it tbh.

Will be looking forward to going back to gym however. Will keep at the cycling though. Enjoy it.

London/Essex... ish... Romford to be exact

Doing same program of press ups, chin ups, curls, dips, crunches, planks, shoulder press, lateral raises and rows. Hardly any progression since the start but have kept reps high. Started running/walking daily. Lost a stone during lock down. But am watching the film GI Jane. I really need the gym to get into badass mode. Would love my boxing gym to open too. Need to feel some intensity.

Lots and lots of gardening. Digging, shifting topsoil, building flower beds and creating lawns. Sadly now run out of big jobs to do and reduced to pottering round pulling the heads off dead flowers. Probably would explain my total bloody frustration this last week or so

Joined a 6 week training course for squash. It's been put together specifically in smaller spaces during lockdown, with mostly bodyweight exercises. Bloody tough too!

I had three consecutive days without exercise during lock down a week ago. I had a cheat day during one of those days. It made me feel tired and unmotivated. I was tempted to have another day off or even to write off that week completely. It made me realise that the easiest way to keep it going is to never stop once you have that momentum. I go for a walk as a minimum even on my rest days.

I can't even be bothered to go for a walk, go on my bike, do yoga, nothing. It could be because I know I won't be getting naked anytime soon so I don't give a shit about losing muscle and my shape. I'll regret it eventually though!

If my sole trigger to keep in shape was knowing I had a shag on the horizon I'd probably be drinking wine most of my time too. Possibly even be an alcoholic lol.

Got a home gym but can only use it when the weather's dry in the back garden. Bench press but mainly do calisthenics. Good to hear on the local news that indoor gyms will reopen in Northern Ireland on 10th July. Although my favorite gym is inside a Leisure centre and they aren't sheduled to reopen until August.
