Hace you any clothing that stirs up wonderful memories for you?

I recall some patchwork dungarees I had that I adored and wore to loads of Levellers gigs in the 90s. So much fun jumping around and dancing my heart out in them.

Also remember the sexy pencil skirt I had at my first office based job with a little kick flip at the back, I wiggled professionally in it! What an idiot!

And the tshirt smelling of a boy. Ooooft.

How about you?

Seriously back in the 80's I had a blue suit wing tip shirt and a Dickie bow.

I liked that look then and so did the ladies

Lots of rugby shirts.

A particular tour shirt stirs up great memories of Newquay and I have one from Dublin which was fantastic.

We played in the old lansdowne park.

Good times

Back in the early 80's, I (mr) had a pair of 2 tone trousers.

They were maroon until I moved, then turned green.

They were awesome!

I had green/gold ones that I wore to death - along with Ben Sherman's/Fred Perry's galore back in the days when you didn't need to part with an arm and a leg to buy them

My embroidered cut off denim jacket that I painstakingly embroidered as a teenager with heavy rock band logos. Reminds me of some of the fabulous gigs I went to in the late 70s early 80s. Sadly not got the biker jacket I used to wear with it anymore though.

I used to have a long black taffeta skirt that I wore with my black buckle boots, Cure t-shirt with the sleeves cut off and and a red/black check shirt over the top if it was chilly. I was 12. I never looked like the rest of the pretty girls at school.

I remember them - was cording (available in a variety of colours) as I remember and part of the soul boy/girl uniform, along with boogie belts that were tucked so the end pointed towards your feet

I inherited my late uncles leather biker jacket when he passed away at 33 (i was 9) and i kept it in my wardrobe for years and years. I sniffed it occasionally as it smelt of him and brought me comfort. It was a bloody cool jacket too, although to be fair he was a super cool uncle.

In the 80s I had a pair of baggy denim dungarees which I used to wear with a strappy white vest underneath. I felt great whenever I wore them.

I also had a pale grey, very tight, pencil skirt, which I wore to school, & I felt like such a rebel because it didn't comply with the school uniform rules. I used to leave the house in the morning & when I was walking to the bus I'd roll the waistband a couple of times to make it shorter

Green suade brogues, I wore them to death. Finally wrecked at a Wedding Present gig. I remember a girlfriend in Hull who wore my shirts to sleep in, I've never had such good smelling clothes.

Just had a major nostalgia hit after reading that. I remember all the patchwork stuff - used to have a pair of patchwork trousers - and a girlfriend who had the patchwork dungarees. And going to a Levellers gig at the Brixton Academy and having to walk across London afterwards....

I had a 3 tiered Ra-Ra skirt - It was all white and the first and last layer had blue stripes on it and the middle layer blue polka dots.

I though I was the friggen mutts nuts in it, as I was the first of my friends to own one and I 'revealed' it at the local Friday night disco that week.

Ah the 80's I so miss you.

Sergio Tacchini & Fila tracky tops, Fahra trousers and Diadora Borg Elite trainers.

Not clothes of my own, but there is one dress of my children that is very special to me. My oldest daughter got it when she was about 3. It was long for her then and as she grew up it obviously came higher off the ground. She grew tall but always remained slim so she wore it until she was about 9.

Now my youngest (aged 3) has started wearing it.

Herts/London

My old fella did his national service in Singapore and played in goal for the combined services getting out of many working duties to go play in various far Eastern national stadia. He wore a golden jersey which was reserved for players representing their country in international matches.

I commandeered this top and wore it a lot in my 20s, all moth eaten and wotnot. Still have it tucked away safe in the loft.

In the middle

When I was about 13 my great aunt gave me a light grey two-piece suit that she had bought in the 40’s, grey skirt with flat front pockets that had a large grey button sewn on the folded over flap, and the jacket had a short neat collar with the same buttons sewn on the lapel, fitted waist line and two buttons on the pocket flaps, as it was late 70’s early 80’s and the punk rock mod scene was kicking in I thought I was the bea’s knees in it, very retro and I loved it ssooooo much

Horsham

Loads of bits and pieces.

My Kellogg's tour of Britain yellow jersey, it cost me £20 but lasted me years.

A pair of urban camouflage combat pants, they seemed to be a lucky charm for me.

R6 T shirt, got it after winning an R6.

West coast motorcycle jacket, it looked brilliant with the design on the back. It got wrecked when I slipped in mud next to a bonfire, my arm went in the hot ashes.

I was 16 and bought a sheer top that had sequins on it, the sequins literally just covered my boobs, I was a 32F then and had to tape them in place.

I also lived in a pub and the look on my dads face when I strutted in thinking I was the bees knees

Yep, always been an exhibitionist

I had the most glorious silver tiered miniskirt* from Chelsea Girl. I'd saved up my pocket money for weeks to buy it.

First time I wore it someone jostled my arm as I was fighting my way out from the bar and I spilled a pernod and black down it, wouldn't wash out.

I looked bloody amazing in that skirt.

*yes, that does make it a ra-ra skirt but it was the 80s so quit judging me.

Went right down the nick when it changed to River Island. No more clubbing clothes, just rack after rack of greige trouser suits. I was gutted.
