Every day is a new opportunity to turn your life around. We don't get it right all the time and the fact that you've realised you're not doing what you want to do is the first step on the road to change. Some people never realise but others do and yet do nothing about it. Don't be the latter. Speak to your uni about your concerns and they'll able to help you with finances etc. |

We used to and still do in rare cases but its life shortening work. It got me into Australia to live for 10yrs so it's not all bad but theres not much opportunity here for welders as most the construction firms have shut. |

The good news for you OP is that youve got years and years and years to change things around. Think about what you'd really enjoy and do something about it. Might take time but that time is going to pass anyway  |

I could be happier, but I also could be in a worse place as well. So if my life was to end tomorrow and I had a chance to reflect on what I’ve done and experienced, I’d be happy I’ve lived a life and done some things that I’m proud of and some not so proud.
I have an advantage over many though, I’m an optimist no matter how shit things are, I generally think it’ll get better..,eventually |

Happy in my normal life and very fulfilled, not happy in my personal life as something didn't work out and I'm wondering if I'll find someone decent one day! |

I'm happy to be a live and I have a loving family and friends but internal happiness happy with who I am I'm still working on that has taken a bash recently and it feels like a long road to find my inner happy.Every day is a new day always move forward never back.

I have a good job and earn decent money, but do I enjoy it? No, not really, it's stressful and I work long hours. It's hard to decide whether to leave, learn a new career pathway, but take a big pay cut! Happiness vs money lol |

I always think if you had infinite money and had already travelled the world and had great houses and all materialistic things.
What then would you want? Often it is something we can achieve anyway we’re just distracted by life and the motions we go through. |

Difficult isn’t it to quantify being happy.
Overall I’m not happy, but am trying to find that balance of what’s right for me, what will work for those around me. The big question is what does it take to make you happy or at least content? Is less more? |

I lost my job due to Covid19
Other than the obvious being skint part- its the best thing that could have happened!
I was paid fairly well but woke up most mornings hating my life 
It's just not worth it - life is too short to spend every day miserable just to pay bills and to buy stuff you don't need. |

Yes I’m content. Due to COVID I need to reinvent what I do and how I do it, but even at my age I’m enjoying the challenge. You’ve got your adult life ahead of you OP, just enjoy the University experience as much as you can, you can start an apprenticeship at 21 if you still feel that what you want. Live every moment to the full, you will never have that moment again. |

We are.
We're mid 50's but don't quite look our ages,
We have two grown up daughters (one still at home) both well rounded,
We run a small but successful medieval reenactment group,
We attend lots of steampunk events,
We have very little spare money, but the bills get paid,
So it's all good.
Yes more money, bigger house, newer van etc. Would be nice, yes our best friend died at Christmas,
but we've more reasons to be happy than miserable. |

Life is too damn short. Too many people put things off for another day & feel stuck in situations that are slowly draining the joy out of life. We get bogged down by financial commitments and responsibilities and put ourselves under immense pressure to conform with society's perception of success. There's far too much focus on materialistic things, how much you earn, what car you drive, where you're going on holiday. Those things have no value if your soul isn't happy.
None of us know what is around the corner, so it's really important to live your best life right now, and if there are things that you are not happy with then start to change them.
Am I happy? Yes, I am. Is life perfect? No, but it is filled with many perfect moments & I treasure every one.

You can try to imagine where you want to be in 5 years and try and take steps to achieve it |

Where in Australia ? I used to work in Cloncurry, west Queensland building irrigation systems on the edge of the Deseret, we were desperate for welders out there , all the cattle ranches need good welders. |

Ive decided its better to be happy than not, there's a lot I would have different but thats life.
You're only young plenty of time to decide where you need to be yet, do a bit of everything and see what clicks with you. |

Without all the other human experiences emotions and concerns of life then how do you decide whats happy for you OP....and how to achieve it.
All lives have a little rain sometimes, it makes the sunshine so much more when it comes. But chasing happy like chasing many things in life is probably not the best solution to finding anyones happy...
Its not a place its an ever changing journey.
Me, I'm content. Took me a long time to get there.
So go out and enjoy life OP, happy will find you without you searching for it.

Yes & no. I got married very late in life. Never got the chance to start a family as my hubby had already had the snip plus at over 40 I didnt think it was right to start a family seeing as he has 6 kids (grown up) already. I'm happy with life other than that. Couldnt wish for a better husband. Xx |
