It’s started raining here really hard, that kind of torrential shower that suddenly hammers on the windows and makes you curl up under the duvet all snuggly.
I rather like the rain.
Tell me your thoughts on rain, your stories about rain, your favourite songs about rain or poems about rain or any other rain related factoids. |

One of my first encounters with Inked was outside in the rain, naked in heels on the bonnet of his car LOVED IT! There's something about fucking outside in the rain or storm. Makes me feel alive x |

I love that earthy smell after the rain (petrichor)
Something so relaxing and mesmerising, such a sensory experience...I will very often ask Alexa to play rain sounds to sleep too

Your knowledge of sex and car makes me hard
Thank you, I admire you for your wit and shoes."
I have neither at the moment
Hope it is a hot thought |

The rain helps me sleep when my brain and body won't switch off. I've tried the recordings out there but for some reason they just annoy me. Has to be the real thing as it's about more than just the sound |

My bedroom is on the second floor with skylight windows. I love lying in bed listening to the rain hammering down outside.

I've worked outdoors for about 20 yrs and have the last few years slightly fallen out with rain, winter rain at least and it's sog and squelch and mud and being able to squeeze into the tiniest crack between your neck and clothes.
I have had built a little porch on the back of the house though and are now re falling in love with it, sitting out in warm summer rain without having to get wet ( I need some guttering I do get splashback on the ankles somewhat). Rain whilst you are in bed at night is still pretty lovely though. |

I've never seen rain like I did when I lived in Australia.
Sometimes it would rain so hard that the drops would bounce back up and create a thick mist 2 meters off the floor. Flash floods could happen in minutes and the intensity of the drops would hurt exposed skin like hail.
That said in the months between October and the end of February in Perth you'd often see no rain at all.
To water the grass you have reticulation pipes under your lawn with pop up sprinklers. In those summer months I'd turn on the sprinklers and open my bedroom window which was on the ground floor as like most Aussie homes I had what we call a bungalow. The sound gave me tingles as I went to sleep.
I now listen to ASMR with similar rain sounds everytime I go to bed... |

The clouds bruised and swollen,
Bloated with pain
The heavens divide and open
And down pours the rain
Beating relentlessly on the rooftops below
Torrents through gutters and pipes do flow
Gushing and sloshing rapidly through the drains
Rushing yet washing our sorrows away
The cold front soon clears and clouds do relent
Shafts of sunlight, reflections prismatically bent
Mist rising off fences back up to the sky
Pavements now steaming as the wet surface dries
Warmth replaces the hurt of a heart once broken
The sun rays whispering in a voice softly spoken
Never forget when your feeling in pain
There’ll always be sunshine, after the rain.

I absolutely adore the rain. I find so much comfort and happiness in those wet drops of goodness. I'm happy to put on a pair of wellies and a jacket and sit in the rain to clear my mind.
It's so therapeutic. I'm always so happy when it's raining. I've often been called miserable because I love it so much but there's something about this kind of weather that works wonders for my mental health. Wet puddles, the sound of tires running across the wet ground and the deep earthy smell that comes with it makes me feel alive.

"Standing at the limit of an endless ocean
Stranded like a runaway, lost at sea
City on a rainy day down in the harbour
Watching as the grey clouds shadow the bay
Looking everywhere 'cause I had to find you
This is not the way that I remember it here
Anyone will tell you it's a prisoner island
Hidden in the summer for a million years"
Standing on Sydney Harbour Bridge, watching the rolling, rumbling grey-black clouds draw gradually into the harbour behind the Opera House. Feeling the barometric pressure change in your bones. Almost a force rising in the atmosphere until suddenly it shatters.
Thunderstorms in Sydney don't fuck around. Run for cover. |

Here I am thinking I wanna check out your lenticular cloud because I am into clouds and know of a majestic place, but you got Alexa for your sensory needs! Been replaced by tech! Not fair seen as technology became stronger than human nature during lockdown
And I wanted to share my thoughts on the rain ffs! Alexa has put me off and ruined #Cloud9
Enjoy sleeping with each other or listening to her soothing rain sounds or whatever else she can do. And another thing... taking my chips with me! I'm sure Alexa will bring you a replacement large portion, but mine would have tasted better |

Blimey, MissD! That was a cloudy reply with a hint of sarcasm alright... put the kettle on before you go to work and enjoy:
I like the fluffy ones
How do you know I can't play rain sounds? I can't, but how did you know? If I want to "sleep" I would do that in my own time! Like I do alone every night. I would not fall asleep with you!
My mate Alex will keep Alexa company because he enjoys cool gadgets. This thread is about rain not reign so make love not war.
If you would be so kind and join me... I will be waiting outside in the rain for our first kiss. Pucker up! It's gonna be a wet one
