Iused to love the huge loaves of bread made into all different shapes that were on disply at the church services............just wanted to sink my teeth into them
they were probably rock hard, painted with varnish and brought out every year |

Harvest Festival used to be a really big thing when I was a kid at school. It used to feel so good taking boxes of food to the old dears that lived in our street! Its dying out like so many other traditions I think, shame really |

Just back from a trip to Bolton last weekend and it was harvest at our local church. No bread and such to decorate the church and no fruit and veg just envelopes for money as apparently old folk dont want the fruit and veg and children cant deliver to folk that havent had a disclosure done just in case. Sign of the times maybe but so sad |

Used to have them at my sons primary school, the kids would parade through the hall with all the veg they brought in then in later years they started to just ask them to bring tins in which kind of spoilt it for me |
