okay... conversation at work today....
you are stuck on a desert island... you are allowed to take 3 albums with you...
1 Old album (pre 2000)
1 New album (2000 onwards)
1 Live Album

Gilded Palace of Sin (1969)
King of Cards (2007)
Live Bullets (1976)
Discuss : presumably this desert island has got shading, air conditioning? Wouldn't want my vinyl to get warped.
The owner is bad enough. |

As long as I could also take a copy of Pachelbels Canon in D and Gigue (Baroque),
Perhaps I’d choose these 3
1, Strangers in the Night – UFO (Live)
2, Absolution – Muse (2003)
3, Rossini Overtures – Fritz Reiner, Chicago Symphony Orchestra ( pre 2000)

Assuming there IS some way of playing the music...
Pre 2000: R.E.M - New Adventures in Hi-Fi
Post 2000: Idlewild - 100 Broken Windows
Live: my recording of Godspeed You! Black Emperor at the Arches |

This desert island, has it got plenty grub and electricity?
What would be the point of taking the vinyl if we can't play it?
And yes, Mushy is warped! |

Hmmm yeah.... thats a very good point !
Oh-well..... I guess we could always just sit in the shade and hum tunes from our 3 favourite albums whilst we longingly gaze at the Sleeve-covers.... |

" ( Kiss Live 2 ) close 2nd "
Kiss Alive II was the first album I ever bought with my own money! And an essay I wrote about the experience was the first distinction I got on my Access to HE course, so it obviously stood me in good stead! |
