Something in the region of a plane full of people are dying every day at the moment. This is an improvement.

Including all excess deaths, somewhere in the region of one in every thousand Brits have died during this pandemic.

What's bullshit, exactly?

Where did it say lockdown was over

Must have missed that news

Think we will stay safe whilst people are still dying or seriously ill from the virus

From the 4th of July lockdown is a effectively over however and this is a key part and something a lot of people are forgetting social distancing is not.

I don't think anyone actually followed it. I know no one who did, even the escorts didn't stop. Even on here I'd say over 70% continued meeting judging by new verifications.

So no one you know tried to prevent the spread of disease, save people from terrible illness or death, and help the people at the coal face working for the NHS?

Am I supposed to draw a positive inference from this?

Effectively over perhaps but where have you seen an official announcement?

I didn't say I had but we were never in full lockdown to begin with.

It staggers me how some are so confident in their misguided actions despite all contrary evidence, they openly flaunt the advice that will not only help them but ALL OTHERS AROUND THEM.

It's real as I've talked and know people who have been devastated by this in my work and it's no joke to them.

I also have a friend who has had it and has struggled with ALL aspects of their life including breathing!

Until it happens effects you, go about your merry way and pretend it's not happening. I don't know what else to say...

I have always said since day one since this virus came on our doorsteps it will always be there for the rest of our lives. Life will not be the same again you will still see people in the next five years wearing masks and using sanitiser unfortunately that's just the way our life is going to be

I think so judging my the 1000s who flocked to the beach recently. I went shopping yesterday, I'm the only one who wore a mask but I'm NHS so I know the reality of this virus. Watch this space.

We are often the only people wearing masks.

What people don't seem to understand is if you're the only one wearing a mask it gives no protection but if everybody is wearing one it gives some protection to us all.

Yesterday no-one cared about social distancing whilst shopping. It was a nightmare. Shame all the nine believers are not made to visit covid wards, it would certainly open their eyes. Yes i agree the more we wear masks the better I'd feel in general and safer for us all. My sons going out shoe shopping later, hes definitely wearing a mask xxx

You can't even get passengers to, so what chance have we with drivers.

It should be mandatory to wear one anywhere in public with tough measures in place for if you don't.

Im gutted that lockdown is over

I preferred the quieter streets, and people not being in my personal space.

I agree.

I don't know what's changed in the seven weeks I've been housebound with this crap, but before that I was looked at like I was crazy for wearing a mask in the supermarket.

I'm very sorry I'm trying to stop the spread of a serious illness. I'm so sorry if you find that confronting

Really? I work in retail in Preston. I’d say at least 50% of our customers have worn masks. X

Last time I was in Tesco I could count on one band how many of us were wearing masks. The masks are pointless unless nearly everyone is wearing one. They aren’t for self protection they are a sign you care for other people’s lives. If we are all wearing them we all protect each other. It isn’t difficult to understand.

Apparently in some parts of America they're saying "I protect you, you protect me".

The restrictions may be getting lifted but the virus is still there. We all need to keep up the social distancing & behave responsibly until such a time that it`s safe.

Yes, looking at the public behaviour in the last two weeks or so. Perhaps not as severe as we've had but still devastating to those affected.
