How are your pets coping with the heat ? Our pup had a lovely run on the beach early yesterday morning then slept all day , today he won’t be walked until very late evening in the shade ! Oh and I’ve just ordered him a paddling pool

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon

My grumpy old woman of a dog loves her cool mat, except she lays on it with her arse hanging off every time. She's also a proper little sun worshipper, will find it anywhere, but at the moment she's doing about 5 minutes lazing in the sun followed by 20 minutes under a bush where it's dark and damp.

Manchester (she/her)

I don't have pets but my mum puts ice cubes in the water bowl - which the dogs then won't touch because wtf is that

The dogs also sunbathe in 35-45 degree weather

I don't have any

But I keep an eye on the moggy who lives nearby..

Water and milk mix to quench its thirst.

Its coat is thick and black....

Yikes!

my four-legged equines are loving this weather.

Out 24/7, lush grass, plenty natural shade, and all the water they could want. Plus only being very lightly worked early in the morning, or late at night.

Happy Hossessss

other animals are of the two-legged, self-made, demon spawn variety... And they're hating it as much as me

"Mine are both in and out of a paddling pool to keep them cool and I have fans on all the time to keep the house cool"

Unless you have A/C, fans only seem cool because of air movement and evaporation. The temperature will not decrease. If you are able, freeze a couple of 2L bottles of water and put them on a towel behind the fan - cheap A/C

We have two cavalier King Charles that haven’t been to the groomers since all this started so are now pretty shaggy.

They’re both flipped out on the cold laminate floor in the hallway.

Won’t take them for a walk until the sun goes down and it gets a bit cooler

A bowl of water placed as high as possible in the garden will be greatly appreciated by birds and insects.

I have a french bulldog and he loves the sunshine, so much so that I have to keep taking him into the kitchen to cool down otherwise, if he had his way, he would stay out all day and cook himself to death!

I tried the paddling pool thing but he just looked at in then at me as if to say - 'it's not the sea or a river so you can forget it'

Might try the cold towel though and see if he keeps it on - thanks for the tip!

Got to be cruel to be kind. I just pick little dòg up and put her in then use my hands to splash water over her.

Mines a Malamute cross German Shepherd and he struggles in this weather. He has a lot more energy when the weather is cold, right now he’s chilling on a tiled floor eating a tip-top..

My Own Little World

1 of my cats is flaked out on my bed after I had to chase him out of the conservatory, he was laying there in full sun... never said he was smart.

The other, the long haired 1 just went back out again after coming home for a snack.

The ducks are hiding in the bushes, they will probably come out for a bath about 6ish when it starts cooling a little.

We've repurposed my daughter's old plastic frog sandpit and added a couple of buckets of water and it's now Ape's paddling pool, she's spent half the day in there chasing her own shadow!

She's all fluffy and smells of wet dog now!
