Does everyone have a inner monologue ?

Jump to: Newest in thread

I know I have one, he can be bit of a dick, he will say the most inappropriate thing at the worst time, so I either have to laugh out loud or I almost say it, so I have to overide it. Or maybe you don’t have an inner monologue, which I can’t imagine ?!

Mines worst when I’m in the supermarket, it’s why I ended up buying a foot spa when I only went in for milk.

When I have a drink or two I recite the monologue instead of regular thoughts.

Do you mean the voice inside your head that's saying "you're an absolute idiot" while you're actual voice is saying the opposite?

Hefty Hideaway

My inner monologue keeps me entertained. A constant comedy chatter mixed with extremely bad ideas. I wish it would be a bit less talkative when it's sleep time though.

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon

Mine is a nightmare and battles with my saner self about what to say all day every day. You would think that wouldn't be so bad with no one else here during lockdown.

But no, now it just tries to take control of the typing....

Yep, mine has a filthy tongue, a great sense of humour, can be cruel, can be kind and generally comes flying out of my mouth because I'm too old and too tired to stop it. It becomes my monologue PDQ.

Yes, I have an inner monologue that fights for equality. (yeah, that means we're all equal). Most people have an issue with that as they can only concentrate on one thing at a time which makes me feel very disappointed

If people actually thought and cared about what they say and do then the world would be a much better place.

There's still hope, I have to believe that.

It's natural, though you can imagine how it was before we had extensive languages as a species.

A dialogue is better than a monologue op

Often we're restrained in life where we haven't asked ourselves the right questions. Sometimes we repeat the same mistakes, hit the same walls etc, because we didn't engage with ourselves as fully or as well as we could have done.

Dialogue only works if both sides are allowed to speak.

I need to expand that to 'all sides are allowed to speak'.
