Got sack last month could have been on furlough but voluntary went back and lost my job. Do I tell the truth in the interview or risk it for chocolate biscuits and try blagging it  What would you do |

Tell the truth but make sure you don't sound bitter. Shit happens, I've been sacked before and I found a job in a couple of weeks by being honest about it. My boss had been an absolute manipulative cunt, but that's not something to tell the new boss because they'll view you as a trouble maker. Focus on the positives and why you want the NEW job, not how you left the old....  |

Yes you’ll need to tell them. If they find out at any point, they can fire you/retract an offer for not telling them.
And yes, companies do check references.
It’s always better to be honest.

Then I would say yes, tell them. If you don't disclose and the same thing happened at your new place. You could end up in trouble. It is considered infomation that could be vital to you training needs as well. |

I'm surprised anyone can get fired after one mistake.
I'd say be honest. It may come back to hsunt you if you lie and integrity is priceless these days.

Right, this makes more sense. It initially sounded like you were sacked for returning during furlough, which does put the company in a position.
What you did, was an accident and you have to come clean. Was their any fault that could be shated with the company, lack of training, no SSOW etc? |

well on to process it does say check you've got the weight on scale but they didn't work and now redundancy have been made money saving didn't want to fight it,if they wanted to sack me in this climate then fuck them I can do better |

So you do have some defence then. I wouldnt worry about it. Play up how you are happy to work at somewhere where they take safety more seriously. That way they know your not the type to cut corners just to make life easier. |
