Tap. Scottish water is the best. If I lived in England it would probably be bottled water. That stuff is rank (I’ve only stayed in London, Newcastle and Hartlepool and the water was awful in those places). |

For those that know me and considering my past (poor childhood) won't go into details because whole different topic. Perhaps another suitable time for those that are getting to know me. I had what I was given and never complained even when the water was just awful! I have been fortunate enough to only drink bottled water for years now as times changed.

It does depend where you live. Tap water in London and most of England is
The more North you go the better it tastes and Scotland... well well well! You can't get more fresh than that. Tap is great up there. I was lucky enough to bottle my own water at source once!

They do say that the tap water in London has already been drank three times by people living further upstream... Yorkshire water is usually good, and where i am now is okay.
UK tap water does at least have to meet safety standards so that it doesn't kill you outright. Is it Flint in the US where the water is full of extra minerals - lead, arsenic, cadmium, mercury, aluminium and other good tasty ingredients. Also some places in the US where fracking is conducted and the tap water has become fizzy - with methane - stories of being able to light the stream of gas that comes out of the water tap!
So let's celebrate our British water. There should be an advertising campaign... "UK tap water. Might taste a bit funny but it won't kill you (or only slowly)". |

I did drink bottled Evian for a couple of years recently, you could definitely taste the difference between bottled and tap water, as I live near Bath and the water tastes like shite!
Now I just filter the tap water as bottled was getting expensive... |

Haha like what you did there!
"Evian is an anagram of Naive
It's also terrible for making coffee with"
I wonder if people take it to the next level and do that!? When it comes to boiling kettle I use tap water. Not even thought about or tried bottled water like that...
Why would anyone need to boil it
You made a good point about you just get used to it. I mean you have to because can't go without water for long. If I go to family/friends homes and have tap water I don't say no, but my preference is bottled when at home or going out to eat. Restaurants etc
Oh and always still water. Don't like sparkling. |

I like tap water where i live, i usually take a bottle of tap water with me wherever i go.
The 3 UK places we go on holiday to, Scotland, Wales and Norfolk all have odd tasting water but I'm sure I'd get used to it over time. |

I like sparkling water but can't drink it anymore as it makes me explode (figuratively). Other fizzy pop drinks just the same. A small soda water in a pub is usually okay, the stuff from a bar dispenser is almost flat anyway. |

I drink tap water, it's okay up this way, been some places where the council pop really wasn't nice. I don't drink out plastic bottles, have metal one, it also keeps water cool for longer |

We have Welsh water in the Midlands. It's decent. |

"People do. The chemical composition of the water changes the flavour of coffee. Evian is too pure and produces bland coffee."
Yorkshire tea adjust their blend for different parts of the UK because of the water. |

Tap always ... mainly for environmental reasons. The amount of water it takes (at least 3x the amount in the bottle), the amount of oil used for plastic bottles and the plastic waste generated.

I have never drank coffee so had no idea about that. As other posters mentioned with Evian you can definitely taste the difference in terms of just drinking it. For that price you have to. Expensive!

I have noticed that on their packaging! Not much of a tea drinker either because only used for dunking biscuits and taking a few sips. Basically I just survive on bottled water |

"Voss water only for me and I make sure people see the bottle label as I sip it
I also fill my bath time with it "
As far as fancy bottles go, Voss has to be the best one. Nice shape/size to store in the fridge too.
Apparently people use empty Voss bottles to store pasta.
It's tap water for me. The local water here tastes fine. The UK probably has the highest standard tap water in the world. |

Tap and bottled. However the tap water I drink is put in a glass jug in the fridge so it’s extra cold when I drink it!

If I ever buy bottled it's only when I'm out and desperate. I always keep the bottle and fill it from the tap the next time I go out....
Do ppl really think there's a pretty waterfall or spring or something where bottled water is collected and that it's not processed and treated for consistency and micro results and not stored in a brand new plastic bottle with plasticisers. It's all bollocks for convenience innit, much like life in general.... |

Kinda depends on where you live. Most places in scotland, the tap water tastes better than bottled. Get yourself a TDS meter and checkout how high your readings are in your area. |

I agree with this for water in Southampton is horrible but where my partner lives in London it's much better. |

you can get great secondary filters which remove all chlorine etc and is better than filter jug water...can be fitted on cold water tap or a separate drinking tap if want filters to last longer....they are great and easy to fit for any one half decent at diy or a plumber.. |

I just don't think about buying a bottle of water when I'm in a shop with all the tasty pop looking at me.
I drink quite a lot of tap water and I think it would be a struggle to keep buying so many bottles of water and have it readily available whenever I wanted it. |

I filter tap water before drinking and don't tend to drink tap water unless that's all that avaliable. Never had an issue as a young kid, but there was something wrong with the supply when I was about 10 and it ran an odd green colour for a few days, so decided never again. |

Bottled only when needed out and about or travelling
It may be natural spring water, full of minerals but it’s bottled in plastic and how long does sit in a bottle before you drink it! How many people have handled it before you drink straight from the bottle. As for refilling.... it tastes of plastic!
Tap is best |

Tap. Tests of our tap water generally show how safe it is. I restrict myself to bottled water in some countries, as it's frequently dangerous for us. Just having tap water in a different country may be a little unsettling, though the same comparison should hold true when switching between all tap and all bottled. I'm unsure if there's any evidence of this point |
