Probably no better way is to listen to the beautiful song "the old man" written by the exceptional phil coulter from derry northern ireland..

There are a number of covers of it.

Be warned you'll need a box...or 2 of tissues..

In my humble honest opinion it's one of or the best ever tribute song to a father....

Especially today it will bring a tear to the eye but it will do any day..

You will relate to the lyrics..

Be brave...when you do and I'm sure you will be glad you listened to it..and no doubt keep it on the back burner for future listening...
