One that springs to mind was seeing my daughter aged about 9 or 10 playing a piano piece in a school performance. I have played for 40 years now and I had been teaching her.

Probably seeing my oldest song in the school choir. She is so shy and I was expecting to see her hide at the back behind her friends. She was front and centre and it was so lovely to see

Looking back, it would be my kids and then grandkids that have made me feel proudest. They make my heart swell like nothing else can.

Beating stage 4 Hodgkin's Lymphoma in 3 months when they only said I'd live less than 6.

2 years later watching my son being born when Doctors said after my chemo I'd probably never have children.

26 years after that watching that son of mine successfully come out of a 2 month stay in a private rehab clinic and beating his cocaine addiction.

Thank you, out of the 3 it's my son kicking that vile habit.

Hes a good boy at heart who inherited half of a lottery jackpot win and sadly its proven to be a curse and not the bonus most of us would see it as. The month before his rehab he'd been in 2 ICU wards 4 weeks apart and on both occasions wasn't expected to survive.

I never gave up on him and thankfully he listened to his old man for once

Aside from my 2 kids.....

Being ok when the professor/surgeon told me the lumpectomy wasnt successful enough & they would have to do a full left boob mastectomy & reconstructive surgery at the same time.

Think I coped quite well & am beyond proud of myself.

Welllll... I was going to attempt humour and say getting a reply to an email on here is pretty good...

But... Have to say to all you lot above there are some truly mind blowing achievements and I can only say all are magnificent.

For me..managing to be a great dad despite my ex trying her best to poison the relationship.

Under the Duvet

Apart from my kid, it's got to be helping to build 4 houses for local people in Guatemala.

4 weeks of backbreaking graft.

7am starts, digging foundations in the blazing sun, mixing mountains of cement by hand (no cement mixer)...Finishing the first house was the biggest buzz, handing the keys over to the family was an even bigger buzz.

I'd go back in a heartbeat.
