I'm trying to write why I believe I should be considered for a senior carers role. I just seem to be writing bollocks!

I'm worked at my current place for over 8 years. I know the job back to front. I've been told how I look after new staff and help them grow in their role.

I'm officially stuck with what to say, I'm banging my head on the desk any advice would be greatly received.

I would like to apply for the vacancy of a Senior Carer within the company. I have carried out my own position for the last 8 years and feel that I have gained a wealth of knowledge to enable me to achieve the next level. Always strived to learn any news skills within the company as well as give my care and understanding to new employees, helping where ever possible with guidance, encouragement, and openess

( Maybe a start !!!)

Have a look at your companys mission statement/statement of purpose, use the 'buzz' words from there.

Give examples of anything you have improved or implemented and examples of good working relationships with colleagues service users and relatives.

Have a very good read of the job description and think about things you already do an what you could do.

Be very positive but remember if you say you are good at one thing make sure you have an example of why you are good at it for the interview.

And I know it sounds basic but check spelling an grammer, keep any application form, CV and covering letter formal

Good Luck

Is there not a job description to follow? For example will you be managing staff - discipline, rotas/holiday, training, general man management issues (my hamster died etc).

Will you be involved in planning for Service Users - doing care plans, emergency evac plans and risk assessments and so on?
