Bedworth

My sister just called to tell me that our mum has just been taken away in an ambulance with a suspected stroke. Mum is 74 and disabled by MS, my sister lives with my parents and is mum’s full time carer.

They wouldn’t let anyone go with her. Today is my parents golden wedding anniversary and they wouldn’t even let her husband go!

FUCK YOU COVID YOU UTTER FUCKING BASTARD!!!!!

Its horrible to read. You feel like grabbing hold of it and making it feel the pain you have inside you.

London

Feel your pain. My daughter had the virus. For the first time in her life I wasn't there with my cure all ills soup.

Wishing your mum a speedy recovery.

So sorry OP, can’t imagine how you are all feeling.

My sister called the hospital for an update and she was having a CT scan, they told her to call back again in another hour. That was around midday so I’m sat here on tenterhooks waiting to here from her

Sending positive thoughts OP

Hope you get good news soon.

It's a dreadful thing but you can rest assured she will have some really caring compassionate doctors and nurses to take care of her.

So sorry

Jo x

Mum has had a CT scan which shows no major brain injury which is a relief. The doctors have her booked in for an MRI too which should be done later today. At the moment they are unsure if it’s a tia, minor stroke or even MS related! Her symptoms have improved a bit and they are treating her as if it is a stroke for now. No visitors are allowed at all! My sister told them on the ward that it’s their golden wedding anniversary today, that dad has bought mum a card for the first time ever (he’s definitely not the romantic sort lol) and had been planning to surprise her with it later. They won’t even allow him in to give it to her. They have said if they can take the card to the hospital and call the ward someone will come and take off them for mum to open.

Dad is not coping well. As much as they bicker and argue ALL time, I don’t think he could cope without her there.

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon

I don't know if positive thoughts and caring from a stranger help, but I hope so. Adding mine to those from everyone here
