Actual rocks. Good for painting on them. Nice and smooth. Possibly palm size. Where do I get these?

River?

The smooth ones tend to be eroded by water so a river might just be what you need

Unfortunately my Juliet is yet to be acquainted with her Romeo.

You can get them in most garden centres.

Be really careful taking from a beach as it's actually illegal to remove them. But you know... what the eye don't see the heart don't grieve for.

Have a look on FB for local rock group pages in your area. Love on the rocks in a UK wide one, and i run a Welsh one. There's a few 'adult' rock griups about but there more US based.
