I just found a 2010 ford focus and it quotes an annual tax of £30. Is this wrong because most cars I've looked at are around £100+

yeah it is probably wrong for that year of car.

although you would need to give the full details of the car to check properly.

a car that is a couple of years old could be around that price not really expecting it of a 10 year old car

Could well be right. I'm running a 62 plate Mégane £20 tax.

Depends on engine. I know a lot of 1.5 or less diesel cars were only £30 a year to tax

?

It depends on the emissions - I had a 53 plate clio that was £30 a year tax, and my 11 plate car is that amount

It's based on emitions nowadays, I have a 2017 focus and pay 20 a year, my sister in laws fiesta is zero road tax, a mate has a 2014 329 diesel BMW and pays 30 quid so it could be right

If it's the emissions throttled 1.6 diesel engine then it'll be £30 quid a year to tax.

An ex had one of those on an 08 plate that cost that much to tax. Although with hindsight that was about the only thing that car had going for it.

0-60 in about 15 minutes, if it felt like it

I haven't bought road tax in about twenty years because I've been on company or leased cars. I'm sure I had an 09 Volvo many moons ago which was free road tax but idk how it's changed lately...

Ok this is looking promising, £1100 insurance and £30 tax doesn't sound too bad
