Is anyone watching the Villa game?
It's weird, they're trying to keep a low angle so you don't see the empty stands, and they're pumping in fake crowd noise (generated by the Fifa game?)

well it didn't us long to miss VAR did it... that was miles over the line but hawkeye wasn't working!
actually interesting to see how mari plays with mustafi....
aparently ozil has had a bust up which is why he didn't travel....
you have to figure he is now done which is why the ramsey coming back rumours have started.... |

Very anti climatic. But probably was naive to expect otherwise. On the other hand, Premier league football has been overhyped for a while. It's too early to say but the coronavirus may have caused the bubble to burst. Long overdue in my view. Football needs a reset of some sort.

Both games felt like pre-season friendlies, it’s going to take a few games before players reach actual match fitness.
I think that football returning is wrong and as for the canned crowd noise, it was horrible! |

Regarding the fake crowd noise, I seem to remember that most of the atmospheres at Premier League matches to be on the decline in recent years and Sky were already manipulating the sound during broadcasts. I know this as they purposely mute microphones picking up any anti-board chants at West Ham. Similarly they do the same for bad language in chants. The fake noise may seem unnatural but it wasn't too bad in my view. Some of our own games at the London Stadium were regularly met with silence. Same can be said for Old Trafford and Anfield too and almost any other ground. |

I like to think that there is a person sat in a little room watching the game and pressing buttons match the action on the pitch. |

I attend 38 league games every season and I can categorically say there are pockets of silence at all grounds.
I do think though that fan noise has to include noise for both home and away teams. Often it is the away team making the most noise.
