I love thunderstorms - I was sat in the conservatory watching and listening to the one the other night.

The best one I've ever seen was in southern France, I watched it coming down the valley towards the village, the lightning display was marvellous.

i LOVE thunder and lightning, Ivy thank you i didnt even know there was a lightning radar.

when i was a child or at least shorter than i am now i was woken up by a noise and at the time i lived in a 3 story house with great views from my window.... anyway it was a clear sky except for this one hugh cloud and inside that huge cloud was a lightning storm, ive never seen anything more beautiful than that, i sat there for a long time just watching it

Thunder and lightening (very, very frightening) ~ love it. Absolute love watching lightning. It's one of the things in life I still have a child-like excitement about. At the first rumble of thunder I'm at the window watching and waiting whilst counting....

I was above ground level and It was a summer day In the peak district the forecast had missed this rogue thunderstorm I was nearly out in the open till I saw part of the sky In the horizon turn dark grey and It eventually spread right across the skyline I had already turned back towards some farm buildings and just got back to them and found shelter beneath a barn when the heavens opened It was quite a event to be almost up in a thunderstorm you had to see it to believe it it was pure luck I was in the right place at the right time something I never forget about to this day over 25 years ago now.

Oh I’m so jealous, that’s my favourite!

A couple of years ago there was an uber storm back home at my parents. My mum lives in the middle of nowhere with no neighbours and no street lights. The power went out so it was pitch black. We opened the curtains to the patio doors to watch. When the lightening lit the sky it was so surreal because it made everything look like a twisted black and white version of outside. It was sooo spooky but amazing!

Oh that sounds just eerily brilliant! I love the spookiness of it all, I love the smell after a good thunderstorm, all that petrichorly clean goodness in the air. In Barbados we got caught in a tropical thunderstorm and the rain was warm and I remember loving every minute of it as we played outside.

Yes the air is so much clearer! I get headaches when they’re due and the storm clears it so breathing in is like being able to breath properly after having a blocked nose for ages!

Ohhh! Warm thunderstorms are amazing! That must have been incredible! It reminds me of being a teenager down the beach with friends swimming in the sea during a storm because we could catch the biggest waves! Then going home and being beasted by our mothers

Currently having the building I work in flooded out right now....its coming in through the roller doors and has burst through the internal roof drainpipes and is pissing in everywhere.

The thunder is ace though although im hoping it doesn't burst over the flood gates on the canal where i live as it flows down my road and would meet the canal in my back garden.

Nottingham

"I love a good storm. Can't remember the last time there was a decent one here, though.

Tis coming tomorrow, enjoy"

Fingers crossed. Nottingham seems to have its own weird little microclimate, though – the last few instances of interesting weather have almost entirely passed me by.

They went around/past us, but there was alot.

Thunderstorms are one of the most difficult weather occurances to predict, so just got unlucky

We just had one. The rain was amazingly loud and the thunder went on for ages. Love it. Everything smells so fresh

Jealous! Though feels like one should be happening here, likely won't though.

Manchester (she/her)

They're so atmospheric. Ripe for writing about I think.

Hopefully one starting to brew here. The air feels heavy with anticipation and waiting for that low rumble...
