How long will it be until another football star comes out as lgbt? Poor Justin fashanu was so brave, in 1990, and suffered terrible racism and homophobia and was eithen ostracised by his own family,before his tragic demise.

There was talk of a footballer coming out ... last year I think.

I don't think they should. It's no-one else's business and they would just get abuse.

It's awful that in 2020 they should get abuse just for being public about who they are. In so many other fields of sport, entertainment and public life there is now full acceptance of peoples sexuality. If football and it's supporters really are still stuck in the 1980's or earlier, then I am quite glad that I never really cared that much for the sport.

He was brave and I’d hope any person coming out as gay in this day and age would suffer less than Fash did.
