English assembly

Isn't it about time England had its own assembly, like the rest of the UK?. It could be situated in Manchester or Birmingham and give England its own voice, which is greatly lacking in the Westminster bubble, often drowned out by people who don't want the English to have a independent voice from the UK.

If you ask the rest of the UK, it already exists... they call it Parliament.

An extra layer of politicians wont help any of the issues facing england rather than the UK.

It used to be the case the Scottish MPs wouldn't vote on english only matters. But when government majorities became a thing of the past, they relied on Scottish MPs to pass legislation and the deal died.

"Parliament is for the UK. "

Except historically the whole of the UK hasnt felt represented equally hence the assemblies.

If you feel you need it separately in England then of course it's a good idea.

Cant say it will look any different to Westminster though in my opinion.

That's the general view of most people outside politics!

If you've been furloughed, recieved business grant's, food parcels etc etc during this pandemic, it's as the result of the shit assembly?

"The Assembly" always makes me think of singing hymns at junior school.

Almost as bad as reciting awful verses in the eisteddfod.
