Christ I’ve had times when I’ve had over two thousand unread. Currently just 372 but I’m sloppy with admin and they build up also when you get number 1 on hot pics your inbox goes mental, haven’t uploaded any new pictures for ages so not so many messages of late. |

Not many really, probably 50 at most. My filters are set pretty tight which helps. I don't tend to pay attention to any messages they aren't from friends or through the forum anyway so they just get deleted unread |

I deal with any messages when they come through as I believe it polite to do so.
Some I might message back to say that I am too busy right at that moment to send a considered response.
My inbox never gets out of hand. |

It took me a day and half to type that message. Lol.

It's almost always zero, unless I've recently taken part in some sort of pic swap/mail a forumite thread, in which case I might have anything up to three messages waiting to be read. I know - impressive, right? |

It depends if I load a new picture or when I posted a meet before lockdown.
But my filters are very tight and my profile is strict so thankfully I don't get hundreds anymore. |

I usually receive Quite a few most days (except when My profile is hidden)
I reply to friends and forum post messages. It costs nothing to be polite and reply.... to have an inbox of hundreds of messages and not reply to them is a tad ungracious. If people take the time to message you could at least afford them the courtesy of a reply....no? |

When you’re poorly you don’t feel like replying to messages, that’s different - an inbox full and ignore them is just sheer arrogance |

I don't see it like that at all. I make it clear in my profile I'm unlikely to engage with people.
In the past I have replied to be courteous but inevitably it lead to more messages and at times abuse because they couldn't change my mind.

I have 1648, some have been there for weeks. I have a quick scroll through when I log on and if one stands out or I see one from someone I'm chatting with I'll reply to it, but the rest I leave for when I have the energy to sort through them.
I feel better now I've had my time to shine and brag about my inbox. |

It's been in four figures a few times before and I end up sifting through them at odd times of the night/day to get them down.
I reply to those who've clearly read my profile, or gone to some effort with their message, whether I'm interested or not. Manners and all that.
I do actively manage it through the day, use filters and haven't been so active with posting of late, so my inbox has been much more manageable (apart from Monday's madness when I must have had 500 in the space of a few hours) |

So deleting unread isn't rude?

Do you really think that we keep messages in our inbox to boost our ego?
"Hey"
"Wanna fuck"
"Sit on my cock babe"
"You remind me of a Terry's chocolate orange. I want to bang you on the table."
Oh yeah these messages really make me feel good and like I'm a queen!!
I just find it easier to leave it my hotmail account is the same, I don't delete all my mail in that account either. |

This is exactly my attitude too
Plus it clearly states on Fab FAQ'S that no reply means a no thank you. I'm not sure why anyone would feel that they're entitled to someone else's time just because they messaged them
The majority of messages I get are from faceless guys asking "wanna fuck?". I've no interest in chatting to faceless strangers.
I've tried the polite reply approach in the past but that then opens up to further messages.
A fair few people saying it's rude or arrogant not to reply. I think it's rude to message someone without taking the time to read someone's profile or be respectful of how they run their profile.

I don’t expect a reply. I don’t think I am entitled to a reply. I do take time to read profiles and be polite and have never sent a “wanna fuck?” message. So I always hope for an indication of a no.
I understand the protocol behind the FAQ of unanswered means no...but is it so hard to just delete it? That’s so much more of a no than a message that’s still there. You never know if a read message means the reader hasn’t had time at that point to reply. And if they can put it back to unread, then they can also delete.
By saying that no one needs to be polite in the same breath as the messages I get aren’t polite, is just double standards and it’s become a self fulfilling prophecy these days.
I’m not losing sleep over it because, hey, it’s only fab...and there are far more important things in the world. But, just my thoughts. |

That's a cool attitude to have
I'm always polite when I reply to messages and even more so in person. As stated on my profile though, no reply means a polite no thank you. Some people really seem to struggle with that though.
I'm not great at communicating online. Find it far easier to just meet up/attend clubs |
