Generally speaking, our police officers show incredible self restraint and control so would not necessarily use their tasers.
If the two officers in this incident had used tasers or batons,I believe they would have been perfectly justified. Anyone bleating about police brutality could just STFU as far as I'm concerned.

Having viewed footage, it wouldn't have helped.
It's a tool for when things escalate. Multiple threats? It's not the panacea.
Policing has evolved beyond what many people understand as outsiders. But sadly everyone is an expert. |

Chat to a police guy in here who says police officiate have the choice now to carry a taser or not. The majority choose not to. Don’t know if it’s a countrywide thing though or just where he is.
Terrible thing to happen though.  |

Can’t believe a guy even came running up with a baseball bat. Maybe he was there to help the police, a lot of people slate the police but they are generally the first People they turn to when things go wrong. |

just watched the video,would they have done the same thing if it was a black officer wrestling with the black guy on the floor? with what is going on I think not and feel bad for any white officer that has to speak to or stop any black guy at the moment because anything they do at the moment is going to be called racist. |

It’s a very hard time for them at the moment. A lot of resentment and anger walking around the streets. |

What does proper policing look like?...the video was very reflective of what policing is like on a daily basis. Just wondering what you would have done differently? |

What they need is top down backing to use their powers and equipment with justification.
Some techniques look terrible down a camera phone and people start crying Police bruuuutality and they get hung out to dry.
I felt very sorry for that Officer he was brave as fuck taking those idiots on. |

I generally have a lot of respect for our british police, whether they deserve or not.
However, they have to deal with scum on a daily basis, so if they do resort to brutality, so be it! |
